Description
'How can I tell her? Should I even tell her?' A Riolu thought to himself as he looked out of the maw of Sharpedo Bluff with a very confused expression. 'I mean... Sure, I was human once, but I have no memories of those times... Even after learning about what it was like before I transformed, being a Pokemon is all I really know...' The Riolu let out a sigh, as for the longest time he had be stuck in this dilemma, unable to figure out the proper moral behind it. 'But... Still...'

The Riolu groaned as he scratched his head hoping for the answer that never shown its self. Even if he had been changed into a Pokemon, there was still the fact that he was born a human. Could a human love a Pokemon... Are humans even allowed to love Pokemon?

"Oh, hey Austin!" A voice called, causing the Riolu to jump. The Vulpix giggled a little as she walked over to her patch of hay. "Is it me, or are you easily startled lately? That's the twelfth time I've accidently surprised you this week." She said as she stretched and started to get cozy on her 'bed'. "I thought being the scariedy cat was my job?" She joked, as Austin tried his best to hide a blush.

"Oh... S-sorry Sky. I just have a lot on my mind as of late." The Riolu said sheepishly, as he scratched the back of his head in embarrassment. Sky let out a yawn as she rested her head on her front paws.

"Still no new mission I'm afraid." She said, a hint of disappointment in her voice. "I mean, that is a good thing as it means there are less problems in in the world at the moment, but at the same time it means there's nothing for us Rescue Teams to do. Rather boring, that..." She stated, as she was almost half asleep as she finished. Austin chuckled.

"It's amazing how much you've changed since we first met." He stated, as Sky looked up and raised an eyebrow.

"How so?" She asked, not really out of a irritation but more out of general curiosity.

"Well, when we first met you were too afraid to even stand in front of Wigglytuffs guild. Now you're disappointed when there's no missions to go on, and you've even been taking lead on the more recent ones." Austin summarized, as a smile came across the Vulpixs face.

"Thanks to you. I wouldn't have had the courage to do any of this had I not met you Austin." Sky said, causing the Riolu to blush. "... Besides, Diglett catches you off guard. I'll have you know you also jumped the first time it happened too."

"Fair enough."

The two laughed as the Riolu sat down on his hay patch next to Skys. The Vulpix looked down, as she started to go deep into thought.

"Hard to believe it's been a year or so since we graduated from the guild, huh?" She asked, as the Riolu looked up to the ceiling.

"Give or take." The Riolu replied, as the Vulpix looked out at the setting sun. "... It's amazing how much we've been through when you think about it. Being sent to a paralyzed future, barely making it back and retrieving the Time Gears in time, and then fighting and beating the god of time it's self... Yet we're still only Gold Rank." The Riolu reminisced, a flat tone in the last sentence. "Seriously, you think who ever makes the ranking system would make an exception for the team that managed to save them all from a future where time is non-existent." The Riolu stated, turning to look at Sky who let out a chuckle.

"Now, now... It wouldn't be any fun if we could short cut our way up the ranks like that." The Vulpix replied, as the Riolu scratched the back of his head.

"'Short cut' wouldn't exactly be how I'd put it."

There was a short pause, before the Vulpix looked at Austin.

"I wonder how Grovyle is doing in the future..." She pondered, as Austin crossed his arms as he started to wonder as well.

"I don't know... I know that when we beat Primal Dialga all things from the previous future were suppose to disappear..." The Riolu stated, as Sky let out a gasp.

"W-wait! You don't think that means...!?" The Vulpix jumped up in a panic, as Austin quickly realized what he had suggested.

"Uh, don't worry! Remember, I was suppose to disappear a long with everything else, but I was brought back by Dialga. That might mean Dialga or someone else allowed the others to stay in the current time line as well." The Riolu explained, trying his best to calm the Vulpix down. Sky let out a sigh.

"I sure hope your right." The Vulpix said, as she sat back down. Another long silence ensued, before the Vulpix finally thought of something to ask. "By the way..." She said, as the Riolu raised an eyebrow. "... What was it like? After you disappeared, I mean." She asked, as Riolu looked back up at the ceiling.

"It... Was a weird experience, to say the least." The Riolu said, as he crossed his arms trying hard to remember what he went through. "It was like... I was floating through a dark limbo, where there was no one other then myself for miles, yet I wasn't completely aware of what was going on at the time. Like I was only half-conscious or something like that." The Riolu explained, as the Vulpix face turned rather pale.

"Sounds scary..." Was the only thing she could think to say.

"Looking back on it, it rather was. Luckily it didn't last very long. Like I had just disappeared at Temporal Tower, spent a minute or so there, and then reappeared at the beach." Austin summarized.

"Well, that's good to know." Sky said, as looked away. "Nice to know it was only a minute or so for you, while I spent weeks worrying that I was never going to see you again." She muttered, as the Riolu felt a little guilt creep over him.

"Uh... Sorry?" Was the only thing that came to mind, as Sky let out a sigh.

"No, I'm sorry. It's just..." The Vulpix said, as she looked back at Austin. "When you disappeared, I thought I lost you for good. It was like watching someone you really care for die in front of your eyes..." She explained, as the Riolu felt a blush starting to form on his cheeks. "I... I really care for you Austin... And the thought that you were never coming back... It really tore me up inside..." She finally said, as she looked down to try and hide her blushing face.

'Now's the perfect time!' Austin thought, trying to work up the courage to tell her those three little words many found hard to say to someone they really care about. 'Tell her!'

"... Say, remember that time we took care of Manaphy?" Austin said, trying to change the subject despite every fiber of his being screaming he was an idiot for doing so.

"Of course. How could I forget the little guy." Sky replied, as she started to reminisce on the topic. "It was nice to take care of him for a while, even though I wish he would have liked some other gummi besides blue ones." She said rather flatly, as Austin chuckled. "Having to look for gummis in water drenched areas wasn't exactly the most pleasant experience for a fire type." She explained, as Austin smiled and gave her a pat on the back as Sky gave him a warm smile...

"... Say Austin... Do you think I'd make a good mother one day?" Sky asked, causing the Riolus face to glow bright pink.

"O-o-oh! U-u-uh... O-of course you would!" The Riolu answered, as he quickly turned his face away. Several seconds passed as night time was almost fully upon them, not either of them saying a single word.

"... Remember the time Palkia suddenly warped in our home?" The Riolu finally said, it being the only thing he could think of saying to break the awkward silence. Sky sighed, as she placed her left front paw on her forehead.

"I wish I couldn't." She said, as she shook her head. "Having the deity of space pop into your home and attempting to kill you isn't exactly something you remember fondly..." She stated, as the Riolu got up and walked over to a rock up against the wall. He placed his arms behind his head and lent up against it.

"Yeah... That wasn't the most pleasant experience. At least it was just a big misunderstanding, although it's hard to believe it caused us to contemplate... You know..." The Riolu said sheepishly, as the Vulpix looked down hoping she wouldn't have to answer.

"... It's a good thing we figured out what was really going on before that. That it wasn't our fault that something bad was going to happen. That it was all caused by..." She muttered, unable to finish because the thought behind it was too dark. The Riolu had no such problems though stating his disdain.

"... Darkrai." He stated, as he growled a little. "Never once had I ever thought I would meet a Pokemon so cold hearted and evil in my life. Trying to send the future into eternal darkness with no flow of time, torturing multiple Pokemon to archive his plans, nearly convincing us to... To..." The Riolu ranted, the anger in his voice very apparent. Sky got up and walked over to him, placing a paw on his side.

"... At least we don't have to worry about him anymore. Palkia took care of him when he tried to escape." Sky said, as Austin let out a sigh.

"I hope so... If I ever see him again, it'll be too soon." He said, as the stars now shining outside glowed radiantly. "I can't believe I fell for his tricks." He muttered, as Sky had a good ideal of what he was talking about.

"I'm surprised you didn't figure it out as soon as he made the illusion of me joining his side. You should have known that was something I never would have even considered." Sky said, as the Riolu looked away with a bit of shame on his face.

"I-... I'm sorry about that. It's just... With everything that was going on, the thought that you gave up and decided to join his side... I couldn't handle it. I wanted to be... With you and..." Austin said, his face getting redder and redder the further he got into the sentence. Sky chuckled.

"I understand. I probably would have done the same if I was in your place." She said, rubbing up against him in hopes to comfort him. (Which only caused him to blush even harder.) "Although it's nice to know that you would turn evil for me. (That might be useful in the future...)" She whispered, causing the Riolu to quickly look at her.

"Wait, wha-...?"

"Kidding, kidding." The Vulpix said as she stuck her tongue out playfully at him. They both laughed, as they turned to look out at the calm night sky.

"So... What do you think's next for us?" The Vulpix asked, as the Riolu streached a bit.

"At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if we had to somehow stop a meteor from crashing into the world." The Riolu joked, as two fell silent as they finally ran out of stuff to talk about.

"... We should probably turn in for the night." Sky suggested, as she started to head back to her pile of hay. The Riolu looked down, as he started to think. It was now, or never...

"Uh... Sky?" Austin said, causing the Vulpix to stop and turn to him. "There's... There's been something... I've been wanting to... To tell you." He said, as the Vulpix looked a bit confused.

"What is it, Austin?" She asked, as the Riolu looked down having a hard time keeping eye contact.

"After all we've been through... All this time... I've... I've never felt so close to anyone else in my life. Your one of the greatest friends anyone could ever ask for." The Riolu said, the blush on his face getting brighter and brighter as he tried more and more to hide his face. "But lately... even though I was originally a human... I was... Kind of hoping that... We could be... Be..." Austin stuttered, it taking every amount of courage he had right now just to get this far.

'Come on man! You're almost there! Just a little bit more!' He told himself in his head, as he tried with every ounce of strength to finally say how he felt.

"S-Sky... I... I..."

The Riolu found himself unable to finally say that words he's been wanting to say for so long now. It wasn't because shyness finally won out, no. Rather, it was because his mouth had been covered before he could say it, Skys lips placed against his. At first he was a bit shocked, but shortly returned the gesture by placing his arms around her. The two kissed for what felt like hours, before they finally pulled away.

"I know." Sky said, as she lent up against Austin. "I love you too. Ever since we first joined the guild, I felt myself slowly falling for you. I just wasn't sure if you felt the same way about me." She explained, as they snuggled up against each other.

"I do. I just didn't know how to tell you, and I was worried that sense I was originally a human that..." Austin said, as Sky quickly cut him off.

"That doesn't matter to me. Whether you were originally human or Pokemon, I love you all the same." She told him, as the two embraced tightly.

Looking at each other straight in the eye, the two kissed again and held each other late into the night. Their fantastic adventures bringing them closer than anyone could ever imagine, one thing would be for sure. No matter how tough the challenge, or how impossible the odds, they would face it together like they always have as a team. For now, and forever...

Ok, so apperently you can't upload a picture with a fanfic at the same time with out requiring a preview image that complately destroys the picture. So I decided to to just post the fic in the artist comments because I was getting fed up with fighting with this. Been very off day today, so I wasn't in the mood.

Anyways, started out as just a fanfic but then I decided to draw this scene from it. Firstly, I can NOT draw characters imbracing with out it looking really awkward ( This is the closet I could draw them that looked semi - natural ) and my non anthro Vulpixs look rather chubby... ( Hence why I mainly draw them anthro )

Still, this is probably the most indepth background I've draw so far. Messed around with a bunch of effects I don't normally use in GIMP, and it came out rather nice. I especially like the oil painting effect when combind with my normal shading. Gonna be using that a lot more in my drawings from now on. Still, I feel like there was still something else I could have done to help this blend together a bit more, but there was pretty much nothing else I could think ( or know ) of to do in GIMP. Meh...

Also, I've just recently got back into PMD and it's been quite a while since I've played Explorers of Sky, so please excuse any inaccuracies to the background / plots discussed in the story.

Anyways, I guess you could say this is my epilogue to my original team in EoS, as well as a general BlazingAurashipping fic just because I was in the mood. I might use Austin and Sky in future, but sense I already have a Riolu and Vulpix team it seems a bit redunant... However, I do have a general ideal on how else I can use them, but it'll probably be rare when they pop up.
