Ciara's Egyptian Nightmare (Continued)

The distant, scraping sound of the dread creature snapped Ciara out of her self-reflection; rising terror replaced despair. With shaking, desperate hands she searched the slab that sealed the entranceway, looking for patterns, indentations, switches.... it was to no avail. The smooth stone revealed none.

A pale pink glow crept over Ciara’s trembling shoulder and bathed the sealed entranceway in its unnatural light. Ciara turned around in poorly disguised panic. Her stomach wasn’t even a raisin anymore. Dread had shriveled it into a dried out black pip. The mummy was shambling down the darkened corridor with dreadful purpose. It’s movement was stiff, slow, deliberate. The awful sucking sound of its grainy ancient breath was enough to make one's skin crawl with scuttling bugs. The mysterious pink light was emanating from an egg-shaped stone that it bore on its decaying chest. The ghoulish glow washed over Ciara’s cowering form, bathing her body, washing reflectively over her fear filled brown eyes.
