Description
The Insectomorph, also known as Predator Z, Specimen 13, and the Insect Sapien, is an original character(OC) that I created. It is an almost 8-foot tall, insectoid creature with a skeletal, yet bulky appearance, with crusty, jagged, exoskeletal armor, two arms that have four-fingered hands, tipped with sharp, segmented claws, two double-jointed legs with three-toed feet tipped with talons, crusty, ridged and jagged formations on it's back as well as spines, and a head, having eight, tusked mandibles, jaws filled sharp teeth and a barbed, prehensile tongue, retracting inner ears, crests on it's head, four sensing, prehensile antennae, rattles protruding from the back of it's head, and six, glowing-yellow eyes. It's given name means "Insect Form".

Being a predatory creature from an unknown planet, the Insectomorph is a killer weapon of nature. It is a sentient, insectoid, hermaphroditic, hominid creature, bent on learning, and stalking prey. The primal mentality of it's brain contains the most basic urges, the need to hunt prey for food, and reproduce with it's fellow species. While it is primarily carnivorous, it will resort to eating vegetation with the needed nutrients, if the situation calls for it. As it stalks and hunts prey for the basic purpose for food, it also does this for sport; having the capacity to of killing for the pleasure of it. This however, does not render the creature emotionless, as it possesses a low level of empathy. For example, if a creature is wounded and dying, it may kill them swiftly in an act of mercy, or, if it's prey is unarmed and poses very little threat, it will not waste it's time on attacking them. As long as it lives in it's lifespan for up to 40+ years, it will seek to dominate it's environment, and remain as the top predator.

The Insectomorph possesses many natural biological abilities, with it's prehensile antennae being able to touch, taste, smell and sense pheromones. The heat pits allow it to sense thermal radiation, and it's hearing is heightened to pick up greater sound waves than that of humans. The eyes on it's head are able to spot things in multiple directions, as well as see ultraviolet rays. It possesses a tremendous amount of strength, being able to lift up to ten times it's own body weight of 600 pounds, such as three cars over it's head, carry the weight for a nearly solid 12 minutes, and crush it. It's exoskeleton is also very endurable, being able to block bullets from certain firearms, and take massive amounts of damage before physically succumbing. Although it is tough, the exoskeleton is also hollow, and light enough to allow it to sprint up to nearly the speed of a cheetah for approximately five minutes without it's body, brain or hearts overheating, as well as scale walls and ceilings to climb. In addition, the creature is capable of jumping distances almost up to five times it's own height. The Insectomorph also has a mutualistic, symbiotic relationship with small, black, orange-eyed, insects, called Alien Roaches. These creatures eat unwanted materials so their host does not get infected, carry a disease that can rot the living tissues of certain creatures, and emit pheromones which enable the Insectomorph to track potential prey or targets down.

The creature's high, advanced metabolism and stomach houses a certain chamber, which enables tbd creature to spit corrosive acid a distance of approximately 50 feet away, capable of eating through flesh and certain metals. Within it's jaws resides a prehensile, sharp-tipped tongue, that contains a lethal venom, able to kill small or weaker prey, and overall paralyze a victim for almost two hours. It can extend a distance of almost three feet and back in less than half a second, delivering the strike. Through spinnerets on it's top arms, the creature is able to secrete a thick silk from glands, that is seven times stronger than steel, and three times elastic as nylon. It uses this to make traps, extract needed nutrients from the environment, build habitats, and ensnare it's prey.

The creature is also able to expel a stinging-hot, poison from chambers housed inside it's armored back formations. This deadly gas can give irritations to the skin, can be fatal if breathed in, and is primarily used as a self-defense mechanism. Aside from the toxin, the spines on it's back can aim, and be fired by strong muscles within two columns on it's back, to a distance of approximately 45 feet in length. The insectoid's blood, when meeting oxygen, glows a bright, luminescent, glowing, amber orange. It is capable of bleeding this through glands manually, similar to a Horned Toad lizard, to also deter and disorient attackers. The creatures vocal chords are highly complex, allowing it to make clicks, chitters, chatters, hisses, growls, snarls, roars, bellows, mimicry of certain creatures, and even emit a piercing shriek or screech, capable of reaching a damaging frequency of up to 160 decibels. When it uses this, retracting flaps close over it's ear holes, to prevent the sound waves from damaging it's keen hearing. It's body cells also possess an advanced generation, being able to regrow even a lost limb when given the right time and nutrients.

The creature also possesses two very advanced abilities of camouflage and temperature control. It's camouflage is more adept than that of a cuttlefish, being able to blend into it's background mostly unseen while hiding. It can also lower it's temperature, thereby allowing it to go undetected by animals and technology that sense thermal radiation. The Insectomorph's most efficient asset however, is it's sentient intelligence; able to learn, comprehend, take pleasure, communicate, find new ways to solve problems, and develop new hunting tactics with fresh skills. The more it learns, the more experience it gains, the better to learn how to track down, outmaneuver, and kill it's prey.

Like all natural-born predators, the Insectomorph has it's own weaknesses. It has no wings, giving it no capability of flight, and no adaptations for swimming or breathing in water. Certain weaker, and unarmored spots in it's armor can be easily pierced with the right force. It is also not suited for extremely cold climates, as it is cold-blooded; not being able to generate it's own body heat, therefore requiring it's environment to be warm, and being unable to safely lower it's temperature. Furthermore, the Insectomorph may be sentient, but can sometimes be outwitted due to it's mostly primal mentality.

The Insectomorph was created to mirror, and be a reiteration of the fictional character species known as the Predator, or Yautja in expanded media. The original Predator suit was designed to be an insect-like monster, which was scrapped from the 1987 film "Predator", and was later used as base for the separate creature called the River Ghost from the 2010 movie "Predators". Thus, it became the primary inspiration for this creature. The goal was to create a formidable, monstrous, alien hunter, that would stop at nothing to hunt down and kill it's prey. Remember, just because something bleeds, doesn't mean, that you can always kill it....
