Description The vizxe'pcizi mo are a uniqe race of little, soft, squid-like beings native to M'dabei, a semi-jovian world with a dark ammonia ocean beneath the thick atmosphere. Their species managed to gain controll over most other species in the abyssal/benthic ammonia ocean in prehistory. They produce pheramones which make contempory creatures submissive to them. Over time, they bread the myriad species into their own biotechnology, and by the time A.Z., they had established a thriving type II civilization. They are masters of transmutantagenic controll, and may morph themselves into many forms throughout their now long lives. Many subspecies exist on colonized worlds as well.
What look like eyes are acually highly developed pressure receptors. The tentecular mass enables taste, touch, and manipulation. Their real mouths are on their dorsal surface below their pressure receptors. They absorb nutrients directly from the ammonia, and thrive off phormones produced by other creatures. Vizxe'pcizi Mo are a trigendered race, pocessing a male a female and a semale. Semale produce the hormone cells which allow eggs to accept sperm. Males and females bond for life by fuseing together after mating.
The veiw (or rather flow) of the universe is highly impressionable and surreal to vizxe'pcizi mo. They are deeply emotional and individualistic as a race and have influenced several other similarly-sensed sophonts.

I skeched this mated triad whist viewing an exhibitation of current sculptures by vizxe'pcizi mo artists. I added a dime in the top-left for scale. The fused male/female's name was Ipzituacili'ickibi'i'i Xzeivis, and thier occuipxc's name was Eiv.

How do they speak to each other?

Crap, I guess I forgot that part. They must communicate primarily through their sense of smell. More precise communication includes touching, and puffing jets of water.

Then how do they produce a vocalization that sounds something like "Vizxe'pcizi Mo"?

They don't. The name is the best analogy in traslation from their olfactory/tactile language to our vocal one. So the vocalized name you see is for humans' sakes.

The biology to your sophonts is amzing! I can never imagine half of the stuff you come up with. Please teach me the ways!

Whoa now, of course you as a human are capable of such things. But I'll see if I could figure a few tips to post on your page.

And thanks!

Interesting. The "eyes that arenΒ΄t eyes"-idea is bringing my thoughts to Hal ClementΒ΄s "<[link] >Uncommon Sense", there the aliens had pinhole camera eyes which functioned as noses.
And did you never noticed I asked you a question in the commentaries in "Alien Creatures"?

Ah, very interesting. I'll think about that world to see how possible it is in my opinion.

Yes I saw, sorry but I haven't been able to really get to my computer for a time (complicated). I'll post right after I finish posting here.

HAHAHA! Yes, quite. XD

Probably wouldn't be good to sample any of their drinks, they did evolve in ammonia after all.

Thanks, but what exactly do you mean by "how do I do that"?

How do you come up with all these amazing creatures?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Transapient In reply to juniorWoodchuck [2011-04-17 05:55:25 +0000 UTC]

Many ways... These were inspired by a description of the vampire squid. Others times I would apply many characteristics of various known orgnisms into novel body plans for the design. Every now and then, I would even be able to think of a very different structure by looking at everyday objects.
