More Toyfair reveales from NY this weekend!NECA gave me a chance to work on the Halloween 3 Silver Shamrock masks for their retro-style clothed figures. I love "Halloween 3: Season of the Witch", it's my favorite of the sequels, and stands on its own. pictured here are the final resin prototypes made from my wax originals.
These masks were so much more challenging then I anticipated. Trying to capture the Don Post originals faithfully and make them feel like masks....surprisingly tough. Take a look at NECA's prototypes, courtesy of Toyark's Toyfair coverage: news.toyark.com/wp-content/upl…

You did so many things for NECA i can't keep up with the comments! Halloween merch that isn't Michael Myers? Neato! I think you really nailed it, especially the witch and the almost miserable expression of the skull. You even gave it the right tooth gaps

Haha! I have done a ton of little heads with them. SO many exciting characters, it's bliss for me....I've been very lucky to get to work on so many great characters in my career, but I probably had more fun last year than an year I can recall....Plenty of stress, too, but usually the stress and failures outweigh the enjoyment a little bit. heheh.
Thanks regarding the mask details! They were all surprisingly difficult...It's like trying to sculpt someone else's sculpture again....I should have realized that would be hard.....also probably because it's a rubber mask that changes a lot depending on who's head its on....
