Description As someone from Texas going to New York for school, the snow I see when I'm in NY is nothing short of remarkable. Every time. I don't get tired of it. I go out of my way to step in it when I'm on my way to class and it's snowed, even though in the city they push it all aside to the curb. New York just recently had a huge blast of snow go through; however, I was home for the holidays in Texas, where it reached 85 degrees about three days before Christmas. Of course I don't regret being home, but I'm disappointed I missed that snow. To help make myself feel better, I fished out this drawing I did earlier in the month of Sophie and Lucas having a snowball fight. I've always considered Sophie and Lucas to be my "New York" characters, who actually live in Manhattan (interestingly enough, I hardly ever draw them when I'm home, either. Fitting). So, even though I'm in Texas, in their world, Sophie and Lucas are still in New York--in just the right place to catch the snow when it hit. I colored this with a lot of enthusiasm. They look like they've pelted each other pretty sufficiently, too. Apparently they went to Central Park to have their snowball fight, as well, judging by those trees behind them and no... well, buildings. It makes sense, though--where else in Manhattan could you have a good snowball fight besides in Central Park?

I'm a Colorado girl, so I understand your love for snow. I get why you felt upset about missing the snow storm in NY when you were home for the holidays. This drawing seems like a great way to rectify that. I love that this is set in Central Park and I love the snow stains on Sophie and Lucas's clothes. It seems that they're eager to continue pelting each other in spite of their snow-stained attire. ^^

New York is the state I SHOULD'VE been born in. I love the weather there, I adore Manhattan, and I'm Jewish. (New York has the largest Jewish population in the U.S.)

Thank you for your awesome comment! I'm really glad you like it! You noticed that their clothes have snow on them too, you're the first to point that out. New York is such a great place. I can see why you like it so much! Maybe one day you can move up here!

You're welcome! As far as the snow on their clothes is concerned, I guess I'm just observant. And I read your artist's comments. New York is wonderful! I hope I do move there someday.
