Description Hey guys!

My first real matte painting! (Or something haha)

I imported a very simple 3d model. Made with cinema 4d. I then put it in a photoshop file. And edited it with several brushes. I textured it. And painted in some windows to make it look like a city on a ship.
I wanted to create a great empty structure lost for years. And nobody on this planet seemed to notice it. (There must be more ships stranded like this I guess)

I hope you guys like it! Comments and critics are most welcome (L) As well as tips! (I'm very new at painting)

Kind regards!

Actually the first impression I had was of it being a massive, heavily armoredm, old and worn ship, but still operational. Some kind of heavy desert transport or even mobile city.

Maybe because of the twirling sand at the base that gave me the impression of motion. I also don't get the feeling that it's something that protrudes from the sand because of that.

If I should give some critic, it'd be on the border between the ship and the desert with the darker shades over the sand. Looks like the twirling sand breaks what should be the shadow.

Still looks good

Feels like something from an Iain Banks novel. Huge and weird.
