My very first color portrait ever. I used Prismacolor, Toconderoga, and Crayola color pencils, on Strathmore drawing paper. I wanted to do the first one on my own, but plan to use Ann Kullbergs book to get tips on how to draw with color pencils.The portrait was drawn from a self portrait of a girl who from what I understand is a portrait artist herself. I hope I did her portrait justice, and want to thank her for her great photograhpy.

Yes, I have a few things in mind, just havent gotten to them yet. I am very flattered you like my work. I enjoyed doing Beth allot, but I work faster in black and white. Once I get some room to spread out and set up a studio I want to start to dedicating allot more time to color. Possibly painting as well.

Wow this is awesome! and its your first shot at colored pencil ?!? Love the red in her hair. This would make a eyecatching avatar the thumbnail really caught my eye.

Prismacolor is the brand name of the colored pencils I used. I think out of all three brands, I prefer Prismacolor. Thanks for the compliment on the drawing.

Ann Kullberg's books are very good. She has a website too that you might like to take a look at. I don't have the link in my favorites, or at least I couldn't figure out where I categorized it. hehehehe. Just try a search engine. It should turn it up.
