Description A few types of dragon wings

EDIT:
For all the illiterate idiots out there: This is a practice page i did, WITH REFERENCE and the source is nicely written next to each style.
All D&D lovers should know the brass dragon's wings, and the site of the D&D game is [link] you can find the pics somewhere in the art gallery.
Den Bauvais (which noone seems to recognise) is an older dragon master, have no idea if he has a site
Raziel, from LoK,one of the best wing folding theories i know
humminbird fixd style of wing,my own design

I'll have you know that brass dragons (as well as gold and copper dragons) can fly just *fine* with these wings. I think I should know.

A d**n brass dragon only grabbed one of my characters, flew up to 2,000 feet and dropped her.

xD of course, I am teasing you~ These are very nice wing designs, very creative indeed. Can you provide a link or give direction to the Raziel wing theory though? Or give a little more insight on it? It sounds fascinating and the wing does look quite unique.

so, try to be respectful to those on da please...i love it when my computer freezes in mid sentence..its truly wonderful.

turel In reply to papadino [2003-10-12 22:02:55 +0000 UTC]

I am respectful to those on da,but you still didn't answer my question, who drew the brass dragon?i give respect to WoC but not to the original artist, because they don't display original aritst's names on the d&d page. I wish they did,but they don't.
And it's always the little works people nag on,but when constructive thoughts are needed on a full scale work there's noone in sight. So that i think goes as anyonimous disrespect towards the artist..
I actually thought someone might find these anatomy studies usefull when thinking of how to design their dragon, that was the reason i uploaded it,not so someone could point and say Ha,i know that's a d&d one!

papadino In reply to turel [2003-10-12 23:02:44 +0000 UTC]

i do think they are useful, i also think that dinosaurs and bats and any other kinds of lizards are useful reference tools as well. and if you really truly must know and are too lazy to look up the name yourself, the answer to your question, its Todd Lockwood. and i didn't point my finger out..but you did state in your dragon head study pic, that "some people may recognize these" and i did..so you kinda set yourself up there.
and if you'd like constructive thoughts..i don't have any, i do think that they are all very good copied drawings.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

turel In reply to papadino [2003-10-13 15:35:50 +0000 UTC]

Todd Lockwood, thank you very much. And i said: "Dragon lovers will probably recognise most of these". Meaning the people who know them will also understand why i chose them, and that is because they are very distinctful and different from each other and the stereotype dragon head. For the others this could be a nice sheet of dragon diversity. As well as for me,and my future works.
I will now depart from this retareded coversation,i do not wish to waste my time any more. Feel free to leave my page and my art and not come back. you have buried yourself with your last statement, showing that you do not see the difference between copying and drawing with a reference, hence i see no more point in debating with you. Goodbye.

yes..since i go to art school, i obviously wouldn't know the difference..jeez..being an illustration major...what would i know anyways?

papadino [2003-10-12 21:41:19 +0000 UTC]

Thank you. umm..i thought that god created all animals and creatures though...i guess mother nature and god are one in the same huh?..oh well
and im not an illiterate idiot. you're missing the point of the arguement here. putting a link up in your description box, gives people a chance to see the original artwork, and not only that, for all the actual " illiterate idiots" out there who really don't take the time to read your scribbly little text and who actually don't know any of these names *and im glad i do* they can go and find out who they are.
oh yes, and one more thing, if you knew that some "ass" was going to come by and leave some "useless" comment, then why the hell did you submit it, and if you knew something like this was going to happen, you should have been prepared for it, and just put the damn link up in the first place. some people here on da do take art seriously. so, try to be respectf

Awesome...I must commend and give credit to you for having great skills in copying something that isn't your own, especially that bottom right wing there. Ever heard of a popular fantasy game called "Dungeons and Dragons"? I think you do, so please give credit to those people who work their asses off and who deserve the recognition.

turel In reply to zuckerglider [2003-10-12 21:12:55 +0000 UTC]

read it,it says brass dragon, this was a practice page, you know the brass dragon, and what it is right?

papadino [2003-10-12 20:38:15 +0000 UTC]

hmm..interesting wing studies..however..i seem to notice that the bottom right wing..you kind of..hmm..well, ripped off TSR and their dragons. why don't you try giving credit to where its due. drawing dragons for reference and such is fine with me, just remember to give proper credit to where its due. and please don't tell me you thought that wing all up on your own, cuz i have the link to tsr's site saved...including the picture.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

turel In reply to papadino [2003-10-12 20:55:20 +0000 UTC]

i knew there was gonna be an ass to say i ripped of someone or something...please check,it says "brass dragon wing" right above it,as well as the Den Bauvais one above (which you don't know because you're obviously not familiar with the older dragon masters). i never said i invented these wings, and i didn't,not one,the bat one was invented by Mother Nature, should i write her credit? But what i do say is that i drew all of them, without tracing or anything like that,i have a small brass dragon pic from the WoC site, you know,D&D, which i looked at as ref. It was meant as a practice page,an a4 page, and any artist knows that from drawing things you see you asimilate elements that become a part of your style. And i love Easley and the folk, and would very much like to have a similar style. So thank you for the useless comment, and please next time if you don't have something usefull to say, refrain from leaving comments on my work.

papadino In reply to turel [2003-10-12 21:18:30 +0000 UTC]

actually i am familiar with the names, it just makes sense to still give credit..as in a link, just in case people want to see the original. and just because you put the person's name there doesn't mean anything. and yes, i did see that it says "brass dragon wing". i can read thank you.
and since when did mother nature come into the picture?
basically, i'll im saying is that you should have given a link in your description box..because the "assholes" like us, who apparently don't take the time to read things, won't see that you just scribbled a name in hopes of that being enough evidence of credit to the artist.
and yes, i did read the text on your pic when i first looked at it.

turel In reply to papadino [2003-10-12 21:34:44 +0000 UTC]

Do you know who drew the brass dragon? I have no idea. I gave the link to the D& D page, but i still didn't credit the original artist because i honestly don't know who did it. Den Bauvais i know for sure but his art mostly shows up now and then on misc fantasy art sites, never seen a gallery of his own,and Raziel's wing is a rare thing to see,i used a screen shot for ref. Mother nature designed the bat wing,so i must give her credit.

papadino In reply to turel [2003-10-12 21:48:33 +0000 UTC]

lol. well, im glad mother nature created something and not god. so yes, anyways, the fact that you have the link to the site with the brass dragon is enough, because even though the artist drew it, the company owns it and can show it/share it at will. so having it there, is enough copyright evidence.
and it really is totally ok that you use references and such, i don't have a problem with that. so yes, im sorry if i came off way too angry or mean, i didn't mean for that, so im sorry in that aspect, and i do appreciate the link. thank you.
