Description With the destruction of the American capital and the outbreak of the Second American Civil War, much of the world fell into economic chaos and tremendous social upheaval. In 2015, Russian military units decided to stage a coup, replacing the Russian Federation with the militant Russian Union. With the USA collapsing along with NATO, the Russian Union used this weakness to invade Europe. Their leader, Colonel-General Alexei V. Vakhrushev, thought it was Russia's destiny to rule Europe and incorporate it into the Union. In 2017, Russian troops invaded the Caucasus states and annexed them into the Union. A year later it invaded Central Asia and established the puppet state, the Central Asian Union. In the Spring of 2018, the Russian Union invaded Europe, and by 2019, had managed to reach the Franco-Polish border. When Russian troops began to enter France, the remaining states tried to nuke Russia, but fearing it wouldn't stop the invasion, decided to nuke the eastern banks of the Vistula River in Poland, down to the Black Sea creating what would latter be named the Contested Fields. The attack wiped out ten million Russian soldiers and countless civilians. The resulting fallout irradiated the land, making it nearly impossible for Russian land based supply lines to reach troops in France. The Russian military survivors of the nuclear strike were given as much medical attention along with experimental medicine to treat the radiation poisoning before sending them off the the front lines. The survivors were formed into the hastily formed 235th "Corpse" Division (the nickname given to the unit for the unpleasant effects of severe radiation poisoning) under the command of Major Vladislav F. Petrov (himself a survivor of the nuclear strike on Lublin) and supported by every bit of salvaged hastily "decontaminated" materiel. The members of the 235th Division showed no mercy when they entered France, and where almost immediately left to their own devices by their superiors. The 235th engaged in a two month long campaign of terror and destruction within France until they reach the outskirts of Paris. The final major battle in Western Europe was the three month long Battle of Paris. While the Russians managed to take the city from a force made up of an alliance of the French military and volunteer militias and armies from across Europe and a recent arrival of troops sent from Confederate State of America, the victory proved to be short lived. Russian supply lines finally reached the breaking point as the final Russian push against France left large swathes of occupied Europe under defended and allowed various resistance groups to harass and destroy large amounts of supplies. When fresh Confederate and British troops landed on Brittany, the Russian high command ordered the withdraw. With the unexpected death of President Vakhrushev and the lack of supplies heading into Europe, the Union was left with little choice then to allow the military to retreat behind the radioactive curtain. While the Russian military retreated they looted much of Europe and burned everything on their way back to Russia to deter any renewed offensive from the European Allies and to punish local resistance forces. The Russian withdraw from Europe would be the main destabilizing effect on the continent in the years immediately after.
The Russians also launched a massive number of Scud missiles against Britain before they left France for their role in helping to defend Europe. One of the Scuds hit the Palace of Westminster, killing most of the British Parliament. An emergency election was called for in 2020. Three far-right parties merged to create the Saxionist Glory Party that exploited the peoples fears of a possible second Russian invasion and the collapse of order. They won a majority in the Parliament and began using death squads soon after to eliminate other parties. The Saxonist Glory Party quickly declared itself the only legal party in the UK. After the mysterious deaths of the royal family, the Saxionist Glory Party declared the nation the Republic of Greater Britain after the invasion and annexation of Ireland. The declaration of the foundation of the republic, the Commonwealth of Nations was effectively dissolved as all the member nations refused to recognized the new government. Britain, fearful that if Russia would invade a second time it would be unprepared, invaded a devastated France during the Anglo-French War of 2021, establishing the Paris Protectorate over Northern and Western France that would serve as a buffer state. This move was seen as a great betrayal by France and the other European nations and led to a series of opportunistic wars as the European nations began attacking one another in what would latter be named the European Civil War (2021-2034).
In Germany, the military took over the country after its government and all social order completely collapsed. The military created a new monarchy and reestablish a new order of nobility. Poland was occupied by Germany soon after, but instead of outright annexation the new German government began negotiating with the remnants of the Polish government and prominent citizens. They created a system were their would be two royal families; one Polish and one German. The ruler of the nation would be titled the kaiser which would alternate between an ethnic German and an ethic Pole and the post of chancellor would also alternate (so if their was a German kaiser than there would be a Polish chancellor and vice versa). The German-Polish Reich took over Denmark, the Netherlands, Flanders, Luxembourg, Alsace-Loraine, Austria, the German speaking regions of Switzerland, Lichtenstein, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, and Trentino-Alto Adige. The German-Polish Reich also prepared for a possible future Russian invasion by constructing the Vistula Fortress Lines on the edge of the Contested Fields.
Italy invaded Corsica in 2023, Slovenia in 2025, and Albania and Malta in 2026 and annexed San Marino in 2027 and the Italian speaking regions of Switzerland. The Italian invasion of Slovenia ended up destabilizing the whole Balkan Peninsula.
The Russian Union, rebuilding after years of relative peace (for them at least) finally invaded Europe for a second time in 2034, snapping the European states out of their petty fighting and led to the recreation of the European Alliance. The Second Russo-European War (2034-2037) ended in a limited European victory but helped to finally stabilize the region.

The British took it during a wave of opportunistic wars. Its used as a buffer state in case the Russians manage to break through the Vistula Fortress Line. The locals are constantly fighting the British.

Believe, the French could never accept to be ruled by a foreign head of state. And english as an official language? It's just as plausible as Estonian or Tajik as France's official language.

OMG Is that what they teach in German schools?? FYI, the Resistance was active inside AND outside (Forces Françaises libres). Thousands of NAZI soldiers were killed by French Resistants. Maybe one of your ancestors.

No they don't teach that, and no no one of my ancestors was killed by the french resistance.
But it is a fact that the majority of the french population was not part of the Resistance and did not support them.
Why ?
Because of the FREE furniture, clothes, jewelry ... of course.

Are you f**king serious??????? Free furniture, clothes, jewelry???? OMG you're much dumber than I thought. France paid a HUGE amount of money during the NAZI occupation. Get your FACTS straight you nazi c**t!

FYI, almost everyone supported the Resistance, that's why so many NAZI soldiers were killed during operations (sabotage, etc). Just get a brain before posting your shit.

... 1. I am not a nazi
... 2. I stop this conversation because it's useless, useless like throwing a stone against a wall.
... 3. I find it very amusing how you think that the main population helped the " Resistance".
... 4. Stop being so aggressive, I wasn't aggressive against you.
... 5. Now have a good day, because of you I am in a good mood now. and that wasn't meant sarcastic.
... 6. Also the "dumb" one was you, if you didn't understand what I mean't with the FREE (also second-hand) furniture.

They sure didn't mind during the Angevins, and the fact that a magazine in France could print out a day in english with no problem does show that France and the UK are still very closely together.

OMG get your facts straight! The Angevins were FRENCH-SPEAKERS, they came from France. And who read english magazines in France? British expats (about 300,000 British people live in France).

For conveniences only. The Caliphate covers almost all of the Greater Middle East region and I thought of including Israel and Lebanon here on the Europe map so that the Caliphate could have its own
