Description After the UN ended the Soviet-American War (1995-1996), Premier and General Secretary Dmitri Bozhestvovich Medvev decided to democratize the Union as an attempt at repairing world relations and internal relations. Medvev's policies of ravnostnost (equality), were introduced to give each republic equal footing with each other and greater autonomy to the republics. After reshaping (purging) the Politburo and the Central Committee, Medvev resigned his post as General Secretary of the Communist Party. After being declared President of the Soviet Union and named a Karakalpak, Ibrahim Abdirov, as Vice President. The Supreme Soviet elected a Moldovan, Grigore Gladki, as Prime Minister after Medvev resigned the post of premier and renamed it prime minister. The two were chosen in a hope of lessening rising ethnic tensions. They were appointed until a new election would for their posts was to take place in 1999. In 1996, the Soviet Union had begun to privatize some areas of the economy. The Soviet government also spent many resources rebuilding Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Turkmenia after the US invasion was ended. This allowed the economies of these regions to quickly recover. In 1997, the Supreme Soviet was renamed the Congress of People's Deputies and allowed other parties to hold seats. Many of the republics chose to drop the Soviet Socialist part of their names and change the flags to take out sickle and hammer or change their flags entirely. In the Baltic States, many nationalist and pro-independence groups. In 1999, after the March 21st Referendum, the Baltic States, Georgia, Turkmenistan, and Kyrgyzstan voted for independence. From their, the republics left, until October 31st when the Soviet Union was officially dissolved.

Tula is a city south of Moscow. Tuva is shown northwest of Mongolia.

Oh right, sorry my bad. anyways why is Tuva independent but its not in the present map?
