Also hey- those designs all look pretty DIFFERENT to me. Just because they feature the color green they're suddenly deemed unoriginal?

How come you're not up and about picking on all the characters with blonde hair and blue eyes? No I think black haired characters a quite overdone- why not do a search for all black-haired characters and tell the artists that they're wasting their talent and creativity :/

And even then did the thought even occur to you that they were just drawing for FUN? We're not always trying to draw to entertain YOU but more so- OURSELVES.

Did you even look through the rest of the galleries for what the artist had to offer?
By the looks of it- I think not otherwise you probably would've noticed that not all of us are limited to one green hedgehog as our only OC.

If you're gonna start saying things that would plainly offend the common artist then you're going to start a damn argument.

I'm sorry if our characters don't tickle your high tastes but if you don't like it then why not just click the back button and go do something else! Stop torturing yourself by looking up even more green hedgehogs!

What you're trying to do won't achieve what you want- it's just going to piss others off. Instead just be creative on your own.

I feel I must apologize for my friend's behavior. You see, he often does things without thinking, such as this, and assumes that everything will work out fine. He also tends to be a bit too critical, to put it lightly. So, I have decided to make an argument in your favor, albeit a bit short, in hopes that we can all put this behind us and pretend it never happened.



Daniel, my dear friend, this is not a very good way to introduce yourself to new people.

The average person tends to get offended when you focus on the negative aspects of their creative works. I know that you would prefer that things were generally more unique, but that is quite difficult to achieve in the dystopian societies that we all live in.

And besides, is not art simply a form of entertainment, not only for the viewer, but for the artist as well? Why should creativity matter if it brings joy to the creator? I myself use clichés in the creation of most all of my stories and characters. I then simply replace those clichés with my own ideas. And is that not what was done here? Let's have a look, shall we?

The shoes are of a different make and color.
There are no visible socks.
The gloves are a different style and color.
There is a collar with a lock around his neck.
He's wearing an armband.
The color of his fur is different.
He has a scar on his cheek.

The only things that seem to remain of Sonic seems to be the style of the illustration and the fact that he's a hedgehog. Now, I know that your point is that it's similar to all the other green hedgehogs in the same style, but I'd wager that this one was based off the Sonic the Hedgehog series, and not one of the other green hedgehogs. Therefore, it is rather unique in it's own right.

In closing, Dan, think before you act. And I'm sorry if I offended you, I did not mean to.

1. did she ever state that she was the first person to draw a green hedgehog? is it a crime to do so as well?

2. did you even look at the rest of her gallery ? or are you assuming that all she does is "waste her talent" drawing green hedgehogs?

3. Are you saying that she should spam da with non original characters? wouldnt that make her spamming da with fanart and therefore spamming it with what more than half of the community draws anyway?

and what do u mean you're not trying to start an argument. Basically all you've done is lash out pointlessly because of something she chose to draw.. if you ask me.. anyone who says anyone else is wasting their talent simply because they didnt please you in what those chose to draw should just shut the fuck up.
