So confused over his choice of a first panel... and future colab piece(s)... Lol!

The brief we gave ourselves is: something fresher than a normal story... And no pre determined action/path. Every panel is created- inspired by the previous and so on. The story is our story Confused you yet?

kick his butt for panel 1 for me thxbai [link]

SOOOO IRRITATING.... he gave me some octupus monster to start with.... grrrar T_T

Leo, do you think we should stick to a particular look? Or just ...

mealncholy, life, also destruction, desolation and still some hope, that sort of place by which you pass and you feel theres something going on, things talking... great. thumbs up

This looks like watercolor, like it was pulled from an anime artbook...except it's better than that (excuse my poor choice of words). There's so much going on in this picture - my eyes first fall on what looks like the only solid object in the painting, which could be a figure in a helmet, or a machine of some sort, or a cracked metal egg, or random falling debris. The entire picture looks chaotic, and the arc of red crossing the picture suggests spurting blood. There seem to be wires, machinery, and architecture fading into the background. It feels like an urban cityscape, with fire and smoke and things falling and crashing. Possibly a plan crash, or buildings falling, or the end of the world. I'm really enjoying looking at it, thinking of all the things it could be; it really sparks the imagination. And then of course, the simple but descriptive epithet in small white letters crossing the center of the panel, giving it a finished, graphic look, like a comic book cover or a poster. I just *love* it! My favorite in this series so far, but since I've only seen three, I have to keep going. Just wondering - will there be any kind of written story for this, or will you two just bounce images back and forth, and leave it to the viewer to decide what's going on?

Thank you for the kind praise!! You totally get the piece, for that i am thankful!

The story is semi written, but mostly in the hearts and minds of the viewers

Hooray for random stuff. Actually I think the whole abstract style of it looks rather well done. The red streak really clashes with the earthy tones of the rest of the image. But I do think panel 1 was a horrendous way to start. How is someone suppose to build off of a octopus-thingy. That's just not cricket. Good job, man.

It looks like some kind of astronaut on attached to some kind of zip-wire... am I right?

How it ties in with the octopus I'm not sure, but I think that the artwork is still good in the way destruction has been conveyed.

"Wa Lao Eh"....... *speechless*

one question, how do u collab when u 2 r in different part of the world????

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

ukitakumuki In reply to bickbong [2004-08-23 15:18:40 +0000 UTC]

you colab like you msn or chat... fairly logical process

Except this is less of a True colab, and more of a joint project.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

bickbong In reply to ukitakumuki [2004-08-24 02:15:01 +0000 UTC]

do u 2 draw at the same time in one document or after u finish ur part then u mail to ur pal??

but if u really do it on real time, then can u teach me how to do that on Photoshop? how to collab with friend on real time using photoshop. i know a art software can do that, i usually collab with my friends too. it's Open Canvas. have u heard of the software b4??

thanks for answering my questions..... i really appreciate it.

u r really awesome.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ukitakumuki In reply to bickbong [2004-08-24 03:10:03 +0000 UTC]

haha, nah bro its not realtime like OC or Pchat...

We are not even doing it in real time at the same time... Every panel/image is done by the individual.. the Collection of images together, telling a story - that is the colaboration effort.

Have i clarified things, or made them worse?

But for 'realtime' projects... we like to keep msn or some chat prog open, and work while playing checkers LOL... Then we just pass thru IRC DCC or soemthing.. or ftp most of the time!
