Wow that's a pretty awesome map, any backstory as to why only Germans colonized the Northeast or was it just a fun map?

Mostly fun, but maybe there was some sort of actual political union that made the Germans a superpower instead of the Holy Roman Empire in this world? I don't really know how it'd happen, but I'm imagining a loose confederation with a unified military, which in turn allowed them to get big colonies in the Americas.
