Went on a trip and came back with this piece!Yes, you guys have heard of the ancient mountain and ocean blikkims, but this is the header of a jungle blikkim reference sheet!
For those of you longtime followers with excellent memories, do you remember what types of creatures are silhouetted in this image?
And finally, a use for those four arms, long tails, and giant ears! Truly, blikkims were created as tree-dwellers!

Are the flying species in the picture Horrici? I, uh, totally did not use your air-dwelling reference sheet...
I was thinking they were Pteryn, but then I realized the wings here look more fuzzy and have two large ears that are visible, while the Pteryn don't.

I find it very neat how each type of Blikkim is different and so well suited to their respective habitats. This jungle blikkim is very well painted. The background really draws my attention, I really like the detailing on the tree bark and how you've painted the leaves and bushes here. The bow and arrow have a neat look to them too. Lovely painting!

Thank you so much, and your appreciation of the effort that goes into planning out how these creatures are suited to living! I try to make this species fantastical (it is sci-fi after all, and I'm in it for the imagination and escapism!), yet realistic in their own way. The reason I like art is because those fantasy ideas become a gateway to concrete ideas...
Anyway
That tree is a plant I'm going to try logging if I have time/room in a reference sheet, characterized not only by its large flowers but its striped trunk (which can only be faintly seen in the image!)

I didn't notice the striped trunk until you pointed it out. I see the striping is present on the quiver and the bow as well. I suppose the jungle blikkims depend on this tree for a bunch of things. And you're welcome!
