Another project in progress, "Steppin' Up" is a little league baseball story about a quartet of kids called in to replace the star players on their team. Unfortunately, as demonstrated here by Ricky, their skills need a little sharpening.This was a fun story to do, and a good example of why it's great to work from other people's scripts, because on my own it's not likely I'd have ever gotten around to drawing a sports-related comic. The past few months have really stretched me in a lot of different directions with stuff I'd never attempted before. Very valuable experience.

I always enjoyed comic panels where the art inside them came out of their boarders; it is interesting parallel to the youth who're encouraged to colour inside the lines. I wonder if the comic illustrators who draw outside the lines were always like that, or if they slowly built up to it.
