Description
To start, this is not actually a Christmas picture, just so happened to be posted on the day. If it was, I'd overabuse misletoe like nothing else. Pink is more like Valentine's Day, and even that's not right either.
Finally found the use for all these sappy Euro chick songs I have in my collection. Blaming Initial D-Remember Me for the title... DJ Tatana-If I Could (really blaming this one), Kareema-Cool Your Engines, DHT-Listen To Your Heart for the content. Mostly it just inspired me to draw a planned scene.
The black character is Mewblade from my Mewthree Pokemon species, and the human is her Chosen, Coline (though Mewblade is asexual, so the lesbian factor is questionable). Explaining this is like pain-in-a-bottle after this point. First of all, the pink all over is Coline's representative color; so, this picture is really all her. Coline is ranked highest of all my characters on both purity and loyalty, dubbed "the angel" out of the 50+ of them I've made. Kissing is a symbol of devotion for her, which she gives to Mewblade to further remind her of the fact that even if Mewblade leaves forever, she still continues to be loyal to her. As a pair they act as family/best friends/soul mates, and are both spiritually and emotionally open to each other. Coline mostly apprentices, and Mewblade is far too removed from physical need (can't sleep, eat, breathe, et cetera) and so aware of the spiritual that pursuing a romantic avenue is not even considered.
This is about the second or third scene prior to Mewblade/Chaos Mewblade versus Deoxys (which is one of the most drawn scenes of mine). Mewblade gets ready to leave, and Coline's fear of a bad outcome brings it all to this scene. A kiss as a reminder, and a kiss for good-bye, works better in writing than it does in a single image... Still enjoyed drawing this, and trying desperately to tame it down and desexualize this as much as possible. Paws on cheek, hands on shoulders, no tongue, bodies far apart, which after a while is challenging. Mewblade ended up looking too dominant for my liking, and very masculine which is odd since Coline does make the call on this. The Ying-Yang of their dispositions came out really well with the black and white. I suppose I'm pleased with this, but am mostly worried that this is just going to be interpreted as some lesbian tongue wrestling. (Then again, I've gotten worse...)
