LE BRIEF: Daniel has a nice, trustworthy smile and seems to be a troubled sweetheart down on his luck. He will ask you for a battle, but before you start he will propose "something to make this match a little more exciting...". When he wins you will find yourself swindled from much more money then you originally intended to pay or other valuable belongings, as Daniel talks you in a casual and friendly way into gambling more and more. Don't have the stuff? Gamble your Pokemon. Heck, he'll bet you that Abra of his! Seriously! Oh, you don't want to pay up? I'm sorry, but you made a deal and Daniel won't be so nice anymore, because Daniel is a guy who is in mountains of debts and needs the cash real fast if he wants to postpone the day he gets a bullet in the back for not paying what he owes.

LE PERSONALITY: Daniel is a nice enough and easy-going guy when things go the way he wants, though he retains an air of unease and worried nervousness most of the time. He is selfish and shameless and will take advantage of kind or generous people. He's smarter then he looks and an act of a casually friendly demeanor coupled with playing dumb usually makes people trust him very fast.
Huge winning streaks will have Daniel grow more confident and nonchalant and subsequently more reckless with his decisions. This makes him go through a constant cycle of a "the higher they fly, the harder they fall" kind.

Daniel uses Pokemon as trophies and means of raising stakes, so he's usually on the lookout for rare species, shinies or otherwise unique or valuable Pokemon to win off from other people. The only Pokemon he's ever somewhat cared about and hasn't gambled is Watson the Electivire, a companion since childhood.

LE STORY: Small jobs, occasional music gigs and a whole lot of gambling are anything but a reliable source of sustenance, but it's the only way Daniel knows how to live. Staying places for short amounts of time and coming back only once his name and face are forgotten, Daniel is down on his luck, hit rock bottom and now the people he owes money have handed him a shovel. Losing all his money and trophy Pokemon (but for Watson) and still in horrible debts, when Daniel heard about a League where a bunch of kids battle FOR SERIOUS, he saw it as an easy way of making profit. A lucky streak at the Goldenrod Game Corner allowed him to buy out an Abra for an imminent Battle Gamble and he soon set off for the Challenger Chain. Time is little, debts are big and some people may soon get impatient, and if they don't see money on their table they may settle for Daniel's head.
