Description Drawn for a forum game about evolution. Not at all likely, but fun. Sketches are hasty and rather crappy - obviously.

You know, I thought about it, and this actually makes sense.

Imagine that beaches where seals live have dried out and become a forest. The seals would be vulnerable on land, so they would adapt to living in the trees.

I wish I could take credit for the initial idea!

Weird, I had a similar idea for Arboreal seals after Antarctica warms up. Not as lithe as these beasties though.

That's funny, I never would have come up with the idea on my own.

Very interesting concept! I also have a few arboreal primate-like creatures. [link] [link]

As I said on the boards I love these guys, far nicer looking than my portly sealmian!

I never thought of such an evolution for seals. In my future world, seals are pretty much extinct, with the exception of a Plesiosaur-like form that stays in the seas for it's whole life and a strange land predator who's frontlimbs have evolved to run with them and their hindlimbs used as small gliding wings.

Excellent! I especially like the snakelike intermediate form. The head in the middle one seems a little off though.

Yeah, I just slammed this out so folks wouldn't have to rely on descrption. It's pretty weak.
