Description I just wanted to redraw Alchemical [link] in my more usual style. There was no real reason for this.

And that's pretty much the entire story *shrug*.

(I said I'd try and have a break from OUAT art, and I lied about that)

The eyes are definitely an improvement from the first version.

Yeah I was kind of going for a psuedo-manga Yoshitaka Amano inspired style in the first one, but anything manga related to style-wise is something I'm not particularly comfortable drawing. This is my usual style of drawing generally, and I like eyes looking this way more than having to stylise them for the point of ...well, looking stlyish.

You know, he played a detective on a Scottish crime drama (Hamish Macbeth I think it was) as one of his first television roles.

He wasn't a detective in Hamish Macbeth (which is awesome), he was a policeman. He did play a DI in Monroe: Class of '76 though (which was not so awesome).

I've pretty much seen everything he's in, because I am INSANE.

Hmm... I'm more of a choosy person when it comes to films/TV, but whatever I do like is usually really awesome. Do you have any recommendations from Mr. Carlyle's repertoire that I should give a look to?

My personal faves are Trainspotting, Ravenous, Priest and Plunkett & Macleane.
If i was going to be objective about things I'd say the best films he's in generally are: Trainspotting, 28 Weeks Later and To End All Wars; at least trying to see things from the POV of the general public, and not just looking solely at his roles in the movie but how the movie is on the whole.

He also (rightly) gets a lot of recognition for his role in Hitler: The Rise of Evil.

I saw a clip of Rise of Evil on YouTube, and I thought, 'No wonder they asked him to play the bad guy on OUAT. He's already played the biggest bad guy in history!'
