Interesting thoughts. Severus and Lucius are complex characters who are not completly "evil" but not classical "good" as well and I do not like it if people try to portray them too onesided.
Snape is absolutly Slytherin. He may be a gentle, calm and very inteligent person but he is also easy angry, interested in the dark arts and has no problems to be mean if not sardistic to people he don't like. We never read how he was in his twenties but it's very possible with his success in knowlegde and the power it gives him that he liked to use it against all the people and the society who never really accepted him.
Lucius maybe infulenced him but it's totally possible that Severus would have joined the Deatheaters without him. The whole Lucius tricked him into it is too banal. Yes Lucius is always looking for opportunities but Severus was a first year halfbloodΒ with no money. The scene in the book refers more that he cares as the slytherin perfect and how Severus found a "home" in his house like you two so wonderful described.
The problem is more the very onesided way Rowling portraied the houses. I understand that if you want huge success you have to look what is in generaly and morally the main ideal of the society but to initalise one house as the ultimate ideal good, one as evil and one as loosers is one of the reasons why I could never have been a true hardcore fan (though I like the general idea and lots of characters).
I don't start a discussion about the vilians and dark magic here but I have automatically to roll my eyes if I read/hear chosen one, children forming an army and constantlyΒ winning against well trained adults,...etc. Without the stories around Snape, the Malfoys and the Marauders the books weren't nearly that good in my opinion.

The Sorting HatΒ puts you into Houses where you can blossom and/or according to your personality, I believe. In the case of Severus, he could have been in Ravenclaw but not entirely because he doesn't use his capacities only for science but also as a way to become powerful; he could have been a Gryffindor for his courage and loyalty but the way he is brave and decided to reach his goals is more Slytherin than Gryffindor. For me he is a pure Slytherin and would not have been well accepted in the other Houses, when he could obtain at least some respect and understanding from the other Slytherins.
Lucius visibly helped him and had a great influence in his destiny, maybe not always for the best... but Severus made the wrong choices on his own anyway...

I love their expressions.Β Lucius' gesture may appear to be brotherly, but his face shows that he's cooly taking in everything about this odd First Year.Β Great work!

You know, I think Madam Pomfrey was the nurse during Snape school days, too. I can imagine her adoring this little, awkward, angry boy and trying to give him hugs at certain times of his life while he's being all "No, no, madam. Please, stop... Mmm..."
This Snape you draw fits perfectly in my mind's Snape-Being-Hug. Perhaps because Lucius is grabbing his shoulder?
I like this a lot. You're pretty good at backgrounds, too!!

Comme il vient d'Γͺtre nommΓ© dans Serpentard, il tient les insignes de la maison qu'on vient de lui remettre (un foulard ou une cravate, on ne sait pas dans le livre ce qu'ils ont)

Your young Snape is so well done...and I just love his elfin ears. Lucius too, in his always passive way, looks to be already considering his uses.

I really like Snape's expression in this one. It really shows his emotions. And Lucous looks like he's thinking about how useful Snape could be in the future...

Vizen, I like the French translation better; in fact, I think I read it as you did, but in English!?
Another one of my favorites- I'm sorry if you answered this already, but what is the green substance in Sev's hand? (you really are excellent at placing unknown objects in your pics!)

lol, am I ?
Yes, it's just a slytherin tie. See, Lucius has the same. They can't have already their ties and badges in the train, right ? I thought they receive it immediately after the Sorting.
