Description My 45 cal tommy gun with 50 round drum magazine. It's not gangsta it's gangster! Wow this is a FUN gun to shoot. The long barrel while period was not the commonly shorter one you see in movies.

Very pulp, very Lovecraft....well perhaps not Lovecraft as he liked wimpy heroes, so VERY Call of Cthulhu RPG!

A really heavy gun, that I doubt I'd carry as an adventurer, but it's what I would keep in my Model T ford, carrying my 1911 in hand.

Very nice clear picture, came across an old black & white photo from our Irish war of independence showing an Irish Volunteer with one of these things. Β They were smuggled into Ireland thru New York since the U.S govt. refused to recognise our declaring independence.

I'm betting that's the Auto Ordnance deal, they make the barrel that long to avoid the tax stamp because the usual Thompson length is considered an SBR. I want to get one eventually, the SBR I'm after is a H&K 53

Tommy gun as SAW?? Hey, it is mighty due to Rule of Cool. A friend of mine got to shoot a M1928 variant and a MP-5 in Las Vegas. He thought the old Thompson held up well, due to its weight which (in his humble opinion) made it more accurate and easier to hold on target than the lightweight SMG.

The barrel is longer than the steriotipical TOMMY, but it is nice to see. See mine in my gallery.

I have one hanging on my wall... extremely heavy gun! Doesn't look it due to it's size but wow, feel sorry for the soldiers having to run around the jungle with those.

have you seen/fired a suomi KP/-31? why is the tommy's barrel long?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

vonmeer In reply to kfirpanther3 [2010-05-11 04:45:33 +0000 UTC]

It's the carbine version, the longer barrel increases accuracy and builds greater pressure allowing the bullet to hit harder. Plus the short barrel costs more and adds a federal tax stamp adding more money.

I used to only own a few guns, a Glock 17 pistol, a Remington 870 12g shotgun, and a 22.cal rifle....

...Then I played "Medal of Honor" and then "Call of Duty", It made me really curious about the guns I was playing with in the game...so I decided to collect them, shoot them and master them.

It became like an addiction for a while, the company I own allows me to buy whatever I wanted and the economy was booming. I learned the joy of spending.

I mostly buy from pawn shops (often guns are barely used and cheap to buy), or gun shows where I can get the best selection of arms.

I rarely buy from gun stores, the Thompson was bought at a gun shop as it is modern made.

The hunt historical relics in gun shows, etc, are in truth part of the joy in collecting. Cleaning them and maintenance is why they look good.

Ohhhhh Nice!!!!!!!! That's really neat!

Your very fortunate to have a company and be able to buy them as much as you like. To me here, it's espensive to buy guns! Some people aren't as fortunate. You have a really cool collection! You could do your own private gun show if you wanted I bet!!

You're welcome. Tommy guns are partly combined with the history of the Polish Army - we used them between 1941 and 1945.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

vonmeer In reply to RTJDudek [2010-03-17 20:30:25 +0000 UTC]

England used them too, other than being overly heavy they are good guns.

Does Poland have a right to bear arms today? I'm sorta curious what gun rights other countries have. Seems since Russia is right next to you every should have a gun.

RTJDudek In reply to vonmeer [2010-03-18 07:47:48 +0000 UTC]

Here, You are allowed to own handgun or revolver, if You get a permission from Police Chief in proper voivodeship ( county ). Only soldiers, policemen and forest rangers are allowed to possess bigger weapons.

Weapons on iron pellets are exception and those don't require any permission. I have Winchester M1889 rifle fed on such ammo; it works as weapon against crows and rodents, but rather not effective, if Russians decide to attack Poland again ( last time in 1939, when they helped the Nazis ).

You should move to the US, we need more people like you. Heck come to Montana (lots of people from Poland like the cold here)... here you can own a machine gun if you pay the tax stamp. What about hunters can they own bigger weapons?

I've bought pistols for $30 out here. We have almost no crime, just extremely lethal animals.

I've been stalked by Mountain lions, and have Black Widows in my garage, once in a while a Grizzly bear might walk into the City, and the wolves have gotten out of control. Black bears though will back down if you hit em with a shovel or something.

Other than that, just avoid buffalo and moose (because they kill folks) and rattlesnakes in the summer and Montana is a heaven for the outdoorsman.

If I had opportunity, I would move to the United States. I would meet my relatives from Chicago and Cleveland, not to mention my friends from this country.

The problems are:
1) I don't have visa ( required for Polish citizens );
2) the visa itself is difficult to obtain;
3) I learned about American immigration law and according to this regulation, I may have obstacles with becoming the new US citizen.

Still, once I complete my Legal education, I am planning to visit the United States.

Ever think about attending university here, a student visa might be easier. Legal education, are you planning on becoming a Lawyer?

Keep in mind, America is a huge country...sorta like the EU with different laws in the different states.

Whats legal in Montana or Florida could be a serious crime in more authoritarian states like New York or California.

Yes - so far, I passed most of worst exams. This summer and Winter 2010/2011 are last demanding exams on my way of becoming Bachelor of Law.

I'm familiar with American Law - the essay I am writing for my final exam in June 2011 is about comparison between Polish and American law.
