A bit of new work coming...

with that we have some small arms again. I do these illustrations in the resolution and size they are posted so I tend to crank these out quite fast. Though, as I have said before, I'm not really a gun guy, per se, these are fun to do so expect a good deal more of them.

Another of Geind's sturdy revolvers, this one a little later in their line than the previously posted EL-631 fav.me/d49gcwf
Again, consistent with the majority of shettiers, this one employs the same principle of using flechette (Shett dart or SABOT) shells that have a special resin that the weapon sends a charged jolt into which fires the round. This weapon uses H.V.S. (High Velocity Shett) rounds so it packs a punch. Like the EL-631, as posted, this is a combat model.

This one was also riffed off old 1800s style revolvers, Civil war period. It may seem strange to start from a place so removed aesthetically but that's what's fun about approaching these that way. Though they look modern I usually get ideas from older designs and do my take from there. Also of note, the "Made in Spana" refers to a fictional political bloc on the architectural planet Indus and is in no way related to Spain in the real world.

Size of barrel to size of revolving chamber... 2 shots? 3 at most?

Taken from Civil War revolvers? I take it you still haven't seen the glory that is the LeMat revolver then. If there's anywhere to get inspiration from, it's that monster.

for not being a "gun guy", you're pretty good at these. very believable designs, and the look like they actually have some ruggedness and weight to them, like real guns.

I really appreciate that man, thanks! I have a reasonable understanding of guns and my Father was actually more the gun guy (he collects replica guns and airsoft, i have a few airsoft as well) so I have an appreciation, just not really hardcore into it. That said I do love searching for an aesthetic appeal and cool when designing them If it has impact visually then mission accomplished.

ah, that's awesome! i've wanted to get into airsoft myself, even if just to collect the guns. i've always had an interest in guns/weapons (near obsession level as a child lol) due to their design and efficiency. now i mostly design semi-futuristic ergonomic weapons whose functions are based in actual fact and reality - the point being to make these weapons, which obviously don't exist, appear believable and as if one day they just might.

mission accomplished indeed!
keep it up man.

Sometime in the distant future (3000s or so, nobody knows) so you have a wait, otherwise there will be plenty of pictures of the. A replica kit would be nice though!

there is something classic and very 'detective novel'/ film noir feeling about them. I really like the classic kind of lines, and all the tiny details on it, like the writing on the frame and the screws/rivets and things. They have a very futuristic feel while still paying homage to a 'simpler time' in the history of firearms. They feel very 'blade runner' (in a good way) and yet very original too.
I should note: I am not really a fan of guns in real life. but fictional ones, and fictional uses for them (like the Space Marines in Aliens and other things) I am very much a fan of.

Indeed this is very much the vibe I think this material just seems to naturally occupy and, as such, the aesthetics followed. You totally got it most excellent sir I have to concur that I'm not really a fan of real guns either but rather enjoy exploring the aesthetics of fictional ones. I have a healthy respect for firearms and have shot them at the range when I was younger but the world would obviously be better off without them. I don't see that happening any time soon though unfortunately.

Thanks for the great observations there, it's good to know people have been picking up on this as well, I'm far more interested in classic aesthetics than the current typical sci-fi greeble clutter/cold aesthetics we usually see on weapon designs.
