Description
This is another contest prize I did for a story contest held by my World of Warcraft guild. The first prize winner was xpiratecarriex.deviantart.com/ and she chose her hunter Fraeyin, a blood elf, for the prize art.I decided to go more casual than I normally do for these and put Fraeyin relaxing with his polar bear.
The original line work for Fraeyin is ink on paper at about 8x11 which was scanned and cleaned up. The bear, colors and background were added using CS5.

With the white bear, I knew the background would be cool and light, and his tabard was a beautiful red, so I knew the contrast would be great. I just needed to nail the composition, and that was almost immediate inspiration, so all-in-all it was a really smooth process.

Awesome! Nailed another one! Lol.
I had fun doing this one as it's a departure from my typical stuff, but it practically drew itself, so with no struggle, it was fun piece.

You always do such a great job with getting personality into the picture, even with this one where you don't really know the toon. It's always a relief when a drawing flows smoothly instead of struggling with them. Glad this one went well
