He stood shoulder to shoulder with fellow men, all dressed the same. Large hulking husks encapsulated their bodies; heads up displays illuminated their helms and hardened gloves gripped tight around handles. The air was stale, the smell of oxidizing metal and dried blood stagnated the large space in which he stood, small sounds would echo on the air, like a lingering ghost. In front of him stood a man, clad only in light armour - scout gear… nothing that would protect him from the onslaught that surely was to hit them. He looked down, he could see his neck perspire, his shoulders shake and he could almost imagine the fear stricken look on his face. A mighty horde awaited their fearless drop ship on the surface Abel, a force deadly and cunning, ugly and unrelenting in its need to dominate all human life. The slow silence began to ring out a sound, a deep bellowing sound as the floor became hot and the room became heavy, the dried blood began to boil as if they had entered the domain of the devil himself. The sound increased, loud and unforgiving as their lone drop ship penetrated the atmosphere, falling at an undetermined speed towards their gracious hosts. He lifted his hulking armored hand and rested it as gently as he could on the fear stricken soldier before him. Although heavy and cold he could feel he had still managed to comfort him, for that was his job - Captain of the Fearless Host. A captain of those who would charge headlong into the face of certain death, to see that Earth, there beloved home stands another day. He raised his fist high above his head, his mere sight instilled passion and fortitude into the hearts of many.

"My brothers, sisters… today we hold Abel for humanity, today we save the lives of our fellow man, today we fight the blue horde with our hearts! Three long years have we safe guarded Earth from ourselves, three long years have we banded and fought back any and all darkness that our fellow men can conjure. Now we face the terror of the galaxy. Though we may walk headlong into the valley of the shadow of death, we will fear no evil; for we are death! We are might! We are the hand of Justice!"

A roar erupts, more mighty than the most fearsome army; this captain of men instills hope in all he touches. The loud sound begins to die down as the lower thrusters kick into action, slowing their drop ship to a fraction of its speed as it comes in hot. Flak ricochets off the hull and dents appear on the inside at every possible angle. The captain looks on, shouldering his mighty weapon for all to see. Inscribed on the barrel is a passage that reads:

'Know that in the face of death, I shall prevail the mighty; know that in the face of the unjust, I shall enforce justice, know that in the face of God, I shall rise the faithful'

"Rise, brothers and sisters, shoulder your weapons and rise. Fear will not avail you, death will not take you, and your company will not abandon you. Faith is reason grown courageous; and we shall become it!"

The drop ship slammed down into the soft ground of the planets surface, forcing dust and mud to rise and scatter everywhere. The sound of endless gunfire impact rang on forever until the large drop ship door swung open, and from within its depths came the strength of a thousand men, embodied in the lives of just fifty.
