The Blood Angels issue of White Dwarf (can't recall issue # off-hand) had a tutorial for doing a sort of NMM mirror look for swords. I ham-fistedly attempted to duplicate it and this is the very bland result. It involves Hawk Turquoise, Regal Blue, Bleached Bone, and white. It would probably look better if I possessed even an iota of blending skill.

Very nice work. I have a suggestion on painting squads. Don't ever do one model at a time. Go through and do each step for every model before moving on. I.e. Paint all of their gold. Highlight all of the gold on each model. It really ends up saving a lot of time and helps ensure you get them all done. Other than that keep up the great work! I think this is the best job with actual metallic paints I've seen on these guys. Most of the time they are done in non metallic colors.

In the end it's all about you enjoying it, so then, take as long as you like.

I love how he's looking, especially the Glaive Encarmine. But if you think they're slow now, imagine painting the whole armour NMM like I foolishly decided to do... -_-;

I think the painting's gorgeous. I'm painting a squad of these myself, albeit in a rather different paint scheme, and I totally agree with how hard it is to do the wings. You've done them really well, though. Hope mine turn out as nicely.
Main crit is the base. I guess it's a matter of taste, but I hate bases that are just raw, unpainted sand. They need something, even if it's just a Devlan Mud wash, to give them some depth.

Basecoat: 1:1 mix scorched brown/shining gold, washed with devlan mud
1st highlight: dozens of layers of exceedingly watered shining gold(like 3:1 water/gold)
2nd highlight: 1:1 mix shining gold/burnished gold (again, terribly watered down)
3rd highlight: burnished gold on just the highest areas (watered, yadda yadda)
final highlight: 2:1 mix burnished gold/mithril silver
Corners and stuff get edge highlights of mithril silver.
I'd never done gold on this scale before, so I just sort of bumbled my way through it. The next ones may not be so complicated.

Who the hell could bitch at this work? Your paintjob is masterful, sir. Well-painted jewels? Check. Perfect highlights and color fades? Check. Lack of thick layers of paint? Check. Sanded and detailed basing? Check.
There. Now no one can say anything bad. I love Sanguinaries. Wings are win, no matter what.
