I was bored... and that was actually what was going on in my head right before I drew up the strip.Seriously though, I find Evokers pretty... ummm... obscure. I prefer the TV world and cards, really. TV WORLD! WOOHOO!

Hating not played Persona 4, but the evoker causes an emotional/adrenaline rush (shooting yourself in the head) along with the normal mechanics of it. Though it's not needed, it makes it a lot easier to summon Persona. Also, Arisato can technically summon outside of The Dark Hour (Persona manga, hot spring scene).

Hahaha, the whole shooting yourself in the head thing is a bit much. But it looks soo cool. Especially when Shinjiro shot himself in the head. He was sooo laid back like 'here we go again' as if he was tired of fighting but used to the routine. Everybody had their own unique style of shooting themselves in the head. Sounds crazy on paper but looked soo awesome in the game. But Persona 4 way of summoning persona was cool too. Choosing one over the other is too hard for me. But this comic is great.

Wow, I thought NOBODY would agree with me on this! But I actually prefer the TV world too. I mean, the evokers looked cool with the whole 'shoot yourself in the head' thing, but I don't really like the concept. Because according to the game, 'evokers are items that help to control one's persona, but using them will strain your body.' That makes personas look like some kind of forbidden black magic. Also, it doesn't exactly make sense. If a persona is supposed to be a part of yourself, why would summoning it slowy kill you? The Persona 4 way makes a lot more sense with having to accept your shadow, the suppresed emotions you contian within yourself. Because having to accept yourself is actually really hard. Not to mention, if the P3 characters fought ANY other character from one of the other Persona games, (not just from 4) they'd lose in a millisecond 'cause all the other person would have to do is yell 'Look! A discraction!', steal their evoker, and they'd win. Seriously, evokers are pretty much a handicap compared to tarot cards.

nice comment mind if i extend my opinion and thoughts?
Overall when it comes to actually SUMMONING the personas. the evokers provide an extra boost (with a price) to the summons. This does not mean they are reliant on it, although they originally were because the P3 crew was so use to using it they wern't very strong without. But asΒ presentΒ through battle arena they are as capable ofΒ summoningΒ their personas without them as all the others. In truth, if their was two peopleΒ with the same person and one had used an evoker, that person's would be stronger. In current state the P4 tea is currently the weakest of the 4 person gangs as they have so far present to be the least capable with their personas in the normal world. where as minato and the others have used their personas past the darkest hour and in P2 and P1 you can summon them in the normal world, this states they are strong enough to do so, where as when the main in P4 was being trapped by a shadow, they did so in the normal world where he was unable to fight back and had to use some type of source that was like the TV. Also on the mark on ingame proof as to P3's strength over the people in P4 is Elizabeth. Where as the Seta could not defeat the elizabeth without straining himself in effort, minato defeated her single handedly and with little strain (AccordanceΒ to manga) I agree defeating one's shadow is a big feat but in Persona 3 they fight something greater than inner pains. Mortality. Loss. Hopelessness. Realities that are more powerful than any regret one can have because it is a finality. When you compare it then, you suddenly realize. The persona 4 gang has a long ways to go before they can stand as high as P1 and P2. P3...i guess we will see what is to come for them but i think its safe to say. Shit is going down!

Evokers are cool, but MC from P4 is awesome while summoning (everyone breakes the card with some weapon, while he breaks with his own hand

I thought evokers were poetically ironic, given that the game was about going AGAINST death...
Besides that, shooting yourself in the head to summon a random guy pulled right out of obscure mythology was pretty damn intense
