Turns out drawing these reindeer is really fun. I'll probably end up doing more.

Somewhat inspired by 's Rudolph "next gen" characters, I decided to play around with my own designs and story lines.

Meet Rudolph and Zoey's daughter, Angel. Angel's a sweet little doe, though she's wound a little tight. Her father was very relieved to see his child born with a normal nose, as that would save her from the rejection and humiliation he went through growing up. Angel, though, resents the fact that she didn't inherit her father's "super power" as she calls it, and desperately feels the need to live up to her father's legacy and heroism, entirely forgetting that with this so-called "super power" came unimaginable torment. But this mindset has often lead young Angel to get herself into strange and risky situations, all in the name of finding her special gift and showing herself to be just as heroic and important as her dad.

It should be noted that neither Rudolph nor Zoey ever impressed on their daughter the need to prove herself or that her parents aren't suitably proud of her. This is something that Angel has internalized herself, possibly drawn from the whole "the most famous reindeer of all" thing.

When she was a young fawn, Angel used to love to wear Rudolph's flyer's medal. Rudolph would gladly drape it over his daughter's neck, and she'd stare dreamily down at the shiny piece of gold, proudly stamped with her father's name, and imagine the day when she'd have something just as important to prove that she could be as great and heroic as her father.
