Just make sure you secure the tank well so the cat can't get to them, or stop the cat going in the room where they are?
There are plenty of owners that keep cats and rodents⦠I guess it depends on how careful you want to be, I know how easy it is to forget to do something so I don't think I would ever keep a cat - plus I'm allergic to them anyway.

Oh, I've kept cats and rodents before - rats and cats, to be rhymey - but I don't want to deal with the hassle of keeping them separate for now. For one thing, I don't have the money for a sturdy enough container for the rodent.
