The canton holds the Commonwealth Star, located on all American Overseas Territories and Commonwealths. The red represents the native peoples, and the star is the Seal of Solomon, green for Islam.The Commonwealth of American Morocco has local elections and an officially secular government, but tensions have been rising in the country as an influx of Jews have followed the establishment of an open economy and free government. The biggest tension is definitely the little nation's separation of church and state, which has upset factions of the native Muslim populations.

After the Spanish-American War ended with American troops lounging in Madrid, all of the empire's colonies were added to the newfound, in all but name, American Empire. The Commonwealth of American Morocco is more akin to how the US treated the Philippines, or how it treats Puerto Rico today.
