Description A new series, one which I'm going to call Tortoisedove, in obvious reference to Turtledove, prolific alternatehistory writer and creator of the famed Southern Victory series. In continuing, here is the world in 1959 after Dixie wins the Great War, but loses round two.

The backstory is identical to this map I made for a CSD which wins both world wars. Here, the Yanks manage to buckle up and get revenge in the second round.

Second Great War:
The SSA managed a series of quick and surprising victories, as well as a naval invasion of Florida which threw the entire Dixon war effort off balance. Things looked grim for the Freedom League of the big three races of British, French, and Dixon. Canadian resolve faltered, and the entire dominion tumbled into Red hands. The Americans went about changing the entire organisation of the country, and managed to turn nearly half a million troops to the South, changing the dynamic and putting pressure on a CSD that could not withstand. The Pyrrhic siege of Richmond, coupled with Negro rebellion internally, sent the CSD crashing down. The Council Republic of Germany managed to finish off France and Britain later that year with Yankee assistance, ending the Second Great War.

The New International was formed after the war, which brought socialist countries together into an supranational organisation meant to continue peace and foster the growth of Marxist thought across the world. Decolonisation was the first process undertaken, and the SSA's butchering of North America came soon after. A coup in Mexico meant a friendly government which could help control Texas and California, while the SSA could focus on Appalachia, Quebec, Utah, New Afrika, Canada, and the Caribbean States, the new puppet governments. These states were called mockingly "Crossnational States of America," owing to the power of one Yankee governor over any Appalachian, Utahn, or Canadian president. New Afrika was made over 90% Negro through forced relocation and genocide, and the newfound Federation of Dixie was a deindustrialised, demilitarised, and economically dependent collection of large prisons which the SSA and its puppets found useful as a dumping ground for political outcasts, violent criminals, and political rivals. The new staple of the South was a labour camp, paid for by the SSA and full of Yank, Californian, and Canadian prisoners.

The iron heel of the SSA has started to liberalise with the passing of most of the War Leadership and the arrival of a new generation of union leaders and governors. An example is the cordial relations with the Mexican Bloc. Texas, California, and Mexico never fully embraced Full Communism like the SSA and its dependencies. California even retained private companies. With elections returning to Texas and the military slowly loosening its grip in California, the Mexican Bloc is looking to take on the SSA internationally, competing not only for the CS, but also for trade with the growing international market.

Absolutely, the SSA set up many areas for natives, and has encouraged their languages in universities across the country. Part of SSA procedure is learning and embracing native cultures.
