Description
Originally titled "The White Continent," this piece has gone through major changes and has been a huge project for me. However, in its fruition I think I can proudly say that this is my finest map yet, truly exploring interesting ideas and conjuring up an immersive alternate history world. The premise? As opposed to the diseases of the Old World killing off Amerindians upon European contact, and the diseases of Africa killing Europeans upon contact, these two germs switch. When Europeans went to Africa, their diseases killed en masse the native African, and when European boots felt the soft shores of the New World, they soon also found their boots facing up towards the heavens as they lay sick with the New World Plague, hampering and harming European colonial efforts and keeping native American populations high and mighty.

There are many parallels with our world here, and I'll be happy to talk about them! The date is indeterminate, but colonisation of the Americas began first in the 1500's, and the colonisation of Africa only lagged behind by a decade or two.
