Description ok. so. I keep getting comments like "OMG! HOW DO YOU DO THAT?!"

well. this is how I do that.

edit: btw? yes, I realize there's way more frames than are really necessary for a simple jump. I was just illustrating a point rather than trying to make an accurate animation. I thought the point would be best illustrated with a few more frames than normal.

honestly this bounce is a little slow. I don't use it as a stock bounce or anything.

I got 4 bases for all the squishing and so, and I remember by heart the regular distance between each move. Though I change it a lot to fit the emote.

bases lead to bad habits. the squish should change depending on the height and the force of the fall leading up to it. the distance between frames on a jump should do the same.

if you stick to the same spacing and timing with every animation, then every animation will show the same personality. a sad person moves wildly differently than a happy person, a silly person wildly different from a serious. these may only be emotes, but that should still carry over.

...You got me completely wrong. I have a large file with bases, but I don't use them all at a time, it's just ready for every situation. In my high-five emote, for example, all the distances/orders of squish have been changed

you just draw a circle and color it in. I told you. I'm not explaining how to use the program. there are a million tutorials on how to work whatever program you want to use, find one of them.
