An heir to his throne, a prince, could grow up being tought to be a powerful king. But a princess...Simba would have to wait until his daughter found a prince herself, then somehow teach him the ropes in a very short space of time. A son, Simba thought, a son...

Well, this one took about an hour and a half, as much as it is made clear that Simba cares for Kiara, I can't help imagining he would feel somewhere a sense of worry that he didn't have a son. I know in the books he has Kopa, but I'm going by the movies here.
