Description A mask that was inspired by the lovely leather armour that makes. A while ago he posted a tutorial showing how he does the scale effect on his dragon armour, and I thought I'd give the technique a try on a mask.

I just love this effect!! Wonderful mask and tooling. Would you happen to have the tool number for the mules foot? I would like to get one and try my self. Also might you have the link for this tutorial? A new fan )

Sure - it's tooled in with a shaped tool, which I think is called a mule's foot.

the tooling on this is wonderful. Again your detailing conquers all.

It's hard to place favourites with your masks (because they're all freaking amazing) but this one is my new favourite right now! I love the scales... they're so perfect... it must have taken forever!

Even on a smooth mask, the colouring you've used would make it a beautiful piece, but the detailed texture really makes it come alive. Also the lighting is really rather special - it's made the tooling very crisply defined, and really shows off the backswept curves of the sides. Just lovely!

I think this is one of my favourite designs to make, too. I like tooling all the scales.

You could do wonders with a Papagino and Papagina pair of masks
