He is typically slow to warm to people, keeping most of his more serious troubles to himself. However, once he has decided that someone is his friend, he will consider it valid until the contrary is established, regardless of time spent without any form of contact. His friends are his treasures and what threatens them, threatens him as well. He strives to obtain the best for those he loves and will be critical of them and everything else, to ensure they get their worth. This characteristic, however, also results in him being rather judgmental, but you can be sure that he will never say anything unless he means it. So, if someone needed anyone to be honest with them, he would always be a good candidate.
Shundian is very passionate about the things he loves, they run around his head all day until he finds his life revolving around it. Additionally, the object of his affections are also what brings out the best in him. Since he was 6 years old, the object had been wushu, now that his arm is injured, a shift in some of his other traits is to be expected.
Usually, he is very approachable and amiable, even to new people, easily striking up conversation and even supplying the exchange with a quip or two. Often seen as a social person, he would thrive in group activities. However, the recent turn in events following his training accident shifted certain aspects of his personality.
His previous curiosity regarding his environment and the people around him dwindled significantly, replaced with an indifferent manner that is often mistaken for impertinence. Similarly, his hospitable and fun-loving nature also gave way for a moodier, gloomier version of him. These days, he is easily frustrated due to his situation. Reminders and assumptions from acquaintances and strangers of his (albeit temporary) inability to perform certain tasks provokes him the most, as a slight on his pride. He will openly accept help, only if intentions are made clear or if the offer is coming from a friend.
biography
From a young age, Shundian had been fortunate enough to find the driving force of his life. For him, it was wushu. Having started, upon his own insistence, at the age of 6, his hard work eventually paved the way for his proficiency in the art. While his classmates went to cram school, he went to training, and although he wasn’t slow, it had him at an academic disadvantage once he transferred from his small school in Taiwan to a much larger school in Guangzhou when he was 10.
His parents were relatively strict and wouldn't stand for it so, he’d made an agreement to maintain a standard of grades that they agreed on to be able to proceed with his training (C ave minimum lolol). It all went relatively smoothly for a few years. At the last year of his middle school, he had even been able to go overseas to represent his school in competition. However, later on, things went awry. After a misstep during training, he had fallen on the execution of his CFK (ce kong fan /cartwheel roll). The fall was broken by his arm, but unfortunately, it had also broken his arm, forcing him into a plaster cast and out of his training. Having been advised at least 8 weeks of full rest followed by a few months of physical therapy to mend his broken elbow, it was to be the longest period of time he would go without training.
The injury had cost his dearly. He had missed what was supposed to be their second international competition. With the thrill of being able to compete he had also lost a number of very precious moments with the rest of his friends. Since his injury and operation, he had been disallowed from participating in training of any sort, should the physical strain be a detriment to the healing of his newly operated arm fracture. The combination of events took a toll on him, and later, he became frustrated with himself, blaming his own carelessness at what should have been routine.
The lull in his activities effectively depleted his morale and his grades started to plummet. Soon after, he started experiencing an acute discomfort and pain in his surgical wound. After consultations with his doctor, it was revealed that Shundian was straining himself by carrying on with his training on his own, which lead to the agitation of the wound. With the elbow not being the most compliant of joints during recovery, their doctor expressed concerns regarding the full restoration of his arm's mobility, should he continue to strain himself.
His parents’ deliberation was concluded with the decision of him returning to Taiwan, where his grandparents and cousins still lived. Ama and Yeye Yan were a typical old couple, retired in a small town, they pass the time by fishing, gardening, and tending to a large stray dog they had adopted a few years prior. The transfer was done in order to remove him from the pressure of the environment where all of his friends are able to train together while he goes home to rest instead.
Truthfully, the predicament vexed him a great deal. At that point in his life, he had already found his passion. Wushu had become the focal point of his life. With that, his friends, and his immediate family out of reach, he found few things to look forward to, besides the doting nature of his grandparents that he had forgotten he missed.
Taiwan was his place of exile, perhaps it didn’t have to be so bad, but he doubted it.

○ RP example:
He looked around the room of unfamiliar faces after he had settled into his seat. The memory of every first day of school he’s ever had would always seem dark whenever he tried to recall, no matter what the weather was actually like. Yet, that day had looked even darker than most. It was true that the sun stung the back of his neck as he walked to school that morning, but once he stepped into the grounds, the world seemed to dim. As he mulled over the impending darkness that was threatening to envelope his world, his arm started to itch under the plaster. How annoying, he thought. He wasn’t usually a deep thinker, but of course his damned arm had to ruin his one contemplative moment. He wasn’t allowed to stick things into it, so instead he lightly hit it against his desk, ignoring the pain. He’d rather have a bit of pain than that infuriating itch.
○ comfort zone: violence OK, romance OK. most things are okay. but if you wanna, like, beat him up (which is a-OK, let me know AHAHAHA)
