I've seen it happen. In fact, very recently even.
Hot Wheels does a road trip every year across the country, and a few years ago they stopped in Speed, KS, solely for the name, and had some big bash that attracted around 10,000 people, which in this area is big numbers. Somebody had a '57 Chevy missing the front clip (although it was teal and white, not black), and rust was everywhere. But I have to say, the 388 stroker they had in it was hotter than anything in that show.

No shit! Did you snap any pix? I'd love to see that. Like I said in the caption, I got the idea from seeing a 57 without the front clip.

You know, there were so many damn cars, I don' think I did. Some guy had a 1947 Ford F-100 with a hardwood bed, perfectly restored, parts matched and all. Jet gloss black. Oh man it was a nice truck. Not to mention all the Bel-Airs and whatnot. Mustangs out the ass, a couple of Ford GTs, even a Shelby Cobra (not Eleanor, but a REAL Cobra).

That looks way cool! Those large wheels really make the design complete. I do wonder where the top portions of the rear wheels went -- shouldn't they be visible behind the little windows?

Nice !
I would definitely go for a rat rod version if I had a 57 ! would be sweet !
Your artwork just shows that coolness potential !

Thanks! It would take a talented shop to pull this off, especially chopping the front clip to narrow it, but it would be cool.

Well I have seen crazier than that ! When we do show cars we basically start from an existing body and then chop the hell out of it !
stretch the wheel base, get rid of the cabin, get rid of the whole front and rear...
Cmon dudes chop your bel-airs !

I'm sure! I think it's amazing what people are doing with old cars today, but I especially like the Rat Rods. I can appreciate the creativity that goes into build something from a bunch of parts and turning it into a work of art.

Don't give th choppers too many ideas, I've stopped watching a lot of car shows from America because of the way they treat good condition cars... I wouldn't mind if they were old basket cases but no they normally use cars that are fine and dandy

Thanks! Yes, I agree. Most of the rat or Hot Rod ideas I have, nobody in their right mind would do, the cars would be too valuable. I'm sure if you did have a basket case that was far beyond restoration, this would be a fun option.

Ah, your first piece of work I saw of yours was that 57 Chevrolet, and goodness did that take my breath away.
Now you give me this wonderful Frankenstein 57 and my God you've done it again!
I love it!
The colors are a wonderful choice, the design of the car is realistic and is a joy to look at, and the logo on the door is a very nice touch. Beautiful, in that monster machine sort of way.
