Summary :
As a third child of the Alcott siblings, Lorrant received little to no pressure from his parents. He went to school just for the sake of it. Seeing the way he wasted himself away, his parents put him into the Magic Academy, and Lorrant was quickly hooked up with White Magic studies. He befriended a Black Mage boy in his first year, Mathias, who shared his enthusiasm for magic, if not more. After graduation, they set out on a childish dream to explore the world and expand their knowledge. They met a treasure hunter in Elazul, where Mathias gambled a magic scroll off her hands. It was a summoning scroll written in runes, but some of the vital information was both scrawled out on purpose and damaged due to the age of the artefact. The pair searched for ways to regain those information for nearly two years with not much success. When Lorrant thought Mathias had given up for good, the latter found the place where the scroll was first discovered and dragged Lorrant with him. It was a tunnel that isn’t too far underground, and in the deepest chamber they discovered what could possibly be the answers they had been searching.

Storm came, so strong that it fell an old tree onto the earth that was just above the tunnel where the Mages were. The impact shook the earth and caused the monsters hiding in the small tunnels to swarm out. The pair was outnumbered and out of option. Mathias gambled his luck, casting an advance fire spell that was far above his level and created an escape route for Lorrant, but the spell soon went out of control and killed him. Lorrant was saved thanks to Mathias’ chocobo, Poncho, causing a huge ruckus and attracted attention of townsfolk who came to check on the fallen tree. Other than suffering burns on the right side of his face, right arm and part of his right torso, he managed to get away with other minor injuries. While he slowly recovered under the care of a doctor and his family, Lorrant also started working for them and built a quiet life in Ilazul. When he received news of a miasma outbreak and the number of patients in the medicine house increased, Lorrant joined the recruitment in hope of being able to help more people, and perhaps save a few others from the pain of losing their love ones, like he did.
Full History

After the war of Antimore, Lorrant agreed to move to Tecatti with Yngvarr and the rest of the Feols. But before that, they have secretly gotten married in a small church in Ilazul, with no one present except for the priest and a few children tossing flowers at them.

After a year in Tecatti, they were worn out. Lorrant felt like an outsider even though a few Feols were very kind to him. He was constantly reminded of their differences in terms of physique and culture, and the fact that he was born an Alcott. What is a noble doing under the sun fertilising the soil and picking corps? Thankfully he wasn't the only one feeling that way, thus he and Yngvarr agreed to leave the village once everything is running smoothly and didn't need them around anymore.

Four years after that Lorrant finally graduated from Meion Academy of Magic and have gotten himself a personalised Meister uniform, from his mother's tailor shop. So many years had passed, he'd long since put away his hatred for his family. They were reunited once again, he even received blessings for his marriage from his parents, although it was late by 5 years.

When the letter came regarding a new railway project, and that ex-guild people were encouraged to join, he saw this as the chance to leave Tecatti, move out to another city. But turned out Yngvarr didn’t have the same idea as him.

♢ Echosa ♢
Abandoned by her previous master in a stable, Echosa was a steed that was hard to rehome, mainly due to her age, less than pretty appearance, and temper. Lorrant felt sympathetic to see her wasted away in that place and bought her home. More than a few times he was thrown off her back and refused to take his orders. But through care and perseverance, Echosa learned that he wouldn’t easily send her away like the previous people who bought her. Things started to get a little easier for the both of them. Lorrant was worried that she would be hostile towards the chocobo chicks in the village, but thankfully she mostly let them be, such as letting them snuggle her for warmth during colder nights.

♢ Relationship ♢
• Mathias Pryde (deceased) :  The two had a close connection that was beyond friendship. A high level of trust. He shared Lorrant’s curiosity towards great powers, with more hunger for it than the white mage. Lorrant became his voice of reason whenever he ran head first into unknown territory. Has a big heart and a food lover. Held grudges against anyone who stole his food, including Lorrant.

• Dianna Alcott (44) :  The first sibling. Lorrant keeps a close connection with her. An adventure-loving woman that doesn’t seem to fit her married life in Elazul, as a business tool for her family. She became a dark summoner when she graduated from the magic Academy but never really get to put her skills into good use. Lorrant writes to her from time to time. They are like buddies that will never run out of things to gossip even when they haven’t seen each other for a long time. She has a lot of things against Lorrant’s life style and low income, and will always find excuses to bring him gifts each time they see each other. More than happy to spend her husband’s money. Has three kids.

• Edward Alcott (42) :  The second sibling. Gem of the family, mainly because of his good grades and high achievements. A law graduate and ‘destined’ to take over the family business. Lorrant finds it exhausting to converse with him.

• Farell Alcott (36) :  The fourth sibling. Currently training to be a Beastmaster. Another sibling that Lorrant is rather close to. Because of that Lorrant almost brought her down the wasting-his-life-away lane at one point. A happy going woman that is often too positive for her own good.

• Jack Alcott (30) :  The fifth sibling, also the youngest. Perhaps due to how his parents pampered him, the young man have yet to decide what he wanted to do with his life, other than sticking to the family and leeching away. A playboy.

• Maverick Jarman (47) :  Lorrant calls him Marv. The doctor who treated him. A down to earth man who is very generous and honest. While he owns a clinic of his own, he also works in a bigger facility in the city of Ilazul a few days a week in order to support his family that consists of his old mother and two children. His wife passed away a year before he met Lorrant.

• Katharine Jarman (76) :  Maverick’s mother. She takes care of the clinic when Marv isn’t around. Skilled in medicine mixing. She and Marv’s family played a huge part in helping Lorrant’s mental recovery, even though it was only enough for him to function like a person again.

• Yngvarr Lowenhielm (99) : His husband. These two are so cheesy together that they'll probably make anyone shiver.

- He can’t drink. He’ll go down before he even finishes one bottle. For the sake of health, he might try to talk another soul out of drinking. But ever since Yngvarr have fed him sweet rice wine, mouth to mouth, he found himself hooked to it. So once in awhile when the Feol had a drink, he would ask for a little, mouth to mouth.
- Has quite an extensive knowledge on herbs, both medicinal and culinary. It doesn’t mean he can cook awesome, just that he knows what to eat to stay healthy.
- Carries scented sachets around most of the time. He started doing it when he tried to cope with Mathias’ death, carrying those with relaxing scent to ease his nerves. Now it’s just a habit. All handmade by him.
- He is able to fix up remedies for most of the common illnesses (fever, cold, etc).
- During his years in Tecatti, all the farmer's work and practicing with pole weapons have toughened his body. Though still a far fetch from a professional fighter.
- He’d gotten used to living with just one eye, but task that requires high level of eye-hand coordination is still a challenge for him, mainly due to the function of his right fingers.
- The movement of his mouth is lopsided due to the scarring on part of his face.
- His scars no longer bother him as much even though he still covers them. Though one might be able to peak it from under his shorter sleeves or the wider collar of his summer clothes. He wouldn't bring them up on purpose.
- He no longer cover his scars now except when he has to dress formally or appear decent for important function.
- He actually hunches slightly since he is so tall and everyone else is just too short.
