My first completed map using QGIS and a little help from GIMP (sorry, but Inkscape is still giving me hell and my clunker of a laptop couldn't handle this thing as an SVG file).
Not that imaginative of a timeline really. Just one where the Oregon Country was divided in a similar fashion to Alta California with one skinny pacific state and a couple big interior states that would later come to make the country miserable by packing the Senate with Republicans and cramming people with very different interests into one huge state.
This is the latest version of an old series of Maps that I've used to test out new map making software. Checkout the originals below.
