I'm not sure why I drew this, but I was listening to and thinking about the lyrics to the song "Hateful Wonderland" and I was struck by this image.Mind you, didn't quite turn out the way I saw it in my head.
But it was better than the original idea I had, which was with funhouse mirrors. THAT would have been a huge pain in the ass.
Ugh.
Still not totally happy with the background, or the colors.
I am happy with Arial though. (Yes, it was my intent to leave him largely devoid of color. It's symbolic, at least to me.) It's emotional more than anything.
Anyhow.

Lol, it's his innocence.
His tainted innocence, I should say.
If you think about it, it makes more sense. Especially if you really consider his character.
Arial's got that deeper, darker side to him that we all have, brought about by the rage of everything that's happened in his past.
But at the same time...both on the surface and deep in his psyche, Arial's still pure, in a way. I mean, if you really think about it, he is.
That's why he's mostly white with the bloodstains.
It's his tainted innocence.
