Yeah, he, the captain, and Sun Lian are NPCs, so I was looking through humanoid species and found them. Apparently they're from The Animated Series (which I never watched), plus some background appearances in the TOS-era films and in Into Darkness. I figured a 6'6" cat would make a pretty fun chief of security.
