Description

First map of my new series "Greater Countries", which will have maps of irredentist versions of several countries.

As the name says, this map depicts a pluricontinental Greater France, that asides from OTL France also contains Wallonia, the French-speaking part of Switzerland, northwestern Algeria as a homeland for the Pied-Noirs and Quebec.

I will leave the creation of a storyline up to your own imagination, as will be the case for every map of this series.

Nice map I often wonder how would've evolve France if we kept Québec, I guess our "Outre-Mer" would've get a greater political importance in our policy ^^

I've always found the idea of owning some overseas territory to be quite cool, since one could have a let's say cold mainland and some far away tropical island in one country. Regarding Quebec, I don't reallly know if they would have remained French to the present day or if they would have evolved a distinct identity even without British conquest, much like Australia or NZ OTL. And thanks for the feedback!

Who know, France don't have the same kind of policy than Britain, we tend to be more "centralized".

Some historians also said that the USA get their Revolution because we lose Québec, so they weren't treated anymore by New France and could claim their independence. If we kept New France, maybe the whole America would still be part of transcontinental Europeans powers

As cool as pluricontinental European nations sound (Too bad Germany probably wouldn't be one of them though), no American Revolution would massively alter the timeline though, as it strongly influenced the French Revolution by showing that democracy could work in practice. And no French Revolution means a probably much less democratic world than OTL.

Oh to be fair, the main contribution of the American Revolution to the French Revolution is our debt, thanks to that the King need to summon the Etats Généraux.

The main sources of influence of the French Révolution are the British Parliamentarism (and the English Revolutions) and the constitution of the Corsican Republic (1755-1769 : also a model for the American Revolution btw).

So don't worry, I think the French Revolution would've still happen ^^

Thanks very much!

Yea, I forgot to add Aosta, but maybe the French there could have been encouraged to help settle northwestern Algeria or less urban parts of Quebec.
