Hello, happy new year, etc..

Another "Wip" that'll be probably never finished, a tank game engine.

Hint : The front of the tanks is where there're two tracks.

Controls :
Move : arrow keys or wasd or zqsd
aim : mouse
shoot : space or mouse click


There're probaly bugs when it comes around 200 spawned tanks.

I spent a few hours on the ennemies "AI".. ^^

Dommage que tu ne comptes pas aller plus loin. Il y avait un potentiel...

Je serais intéressé de savoir comment tu as fait les traces de chenilles. Est ce que tu as juste ajouté plein de movieclips représentant un fragment de trace à la suite, où bien est ce que c'est plus complexe (genre avec des courbes de Bézier). En tout cas l'effet est vraiment chouette.

J'ai dit ça... En même temps, je suis à fond dedans en ce moment
Je suis pas sûr d'aller au bout en fait, comme toutes mes ébauches de jeu...

Pour les traces de chenille, des curveTo ou des clips dupliqués ralentiraient le jeu assez rapidement, c'est encore et toujours la magie bitmapData, setPixel32 qui offre la possibilité créer un pixel coloré aux coordonnées souhaité avec un canal alpha pour garder l'arrière plan par transparence, sans que ça ne s'additionne sur plusieurs passages Tout ça sans pomper trop de ressources
Avec un peut de trigo pour placer tout ça où on veut, ça donne un effet assez sympa

Disons que ca n'a probablement pas le potentiel pour payer tes factures ou pour faire de toi une célébrité, mais je pense que beaucoup de gens perdraient avec plaisir quelques minutes sur un jeu de tanks comme ça, ce qui est déjà pas mal.

Pour l'effet, je me demandais comment tu effacais les traces avec le temps? A moins que ce soit juste une illusion puisque les traces du tank joueur et du tank ennemi sont différentes.

C'est juste une illusion en effet, les traces des ennemis sont plus claires (plus transparentes en fait).

Well its still one of best communities around art so its not that I can go somewhere else for stuff around that. But it feels stagnated and deserted sometimes. Especially community of people like us here is too small to make much impact.

But I don't have much time lately to make use of DA so to say

I don't like NG community to be honest. Seems like wanabies community. Also its for animators and game makers while what I do for fun is toys. Not really a place for that on NG. May be when I turn to making games I will pay more attention to presence at NG. Honestly I am not even visiting NG these days. Learning of good browser games trough blogosphere and they are rarely on NG. Here Kongrgate really wins

With Kongregate I never really tried to get involved. I don't really get that site. Some NG 1.1 for me From looks of it less intense and collobrative community. Mostly players it seems. NG is better in that I think.

In the end those two are mostly about games I don't make currently. Making a game involves a lot of things and effort beyond the prototype and so I am not really interested in participating there.

Still I would like to see, comment and follow what cool stuff people make but NG and Kong do not make that easy in any way...

Kirupa, I am following their RSS feed but not really interesting stuff there so far.

For me best "community" so far besides DA is Wonderfl.net sites thing. Recently trying to get more involved there Best for stuff I like to do for the fun. Sadly its not that much of a community on the surface. People fork, fav and comment on stuff but no real communication happens there. I guess sites commenting stuff is far from perfect or may be it is community.

Fun! Particularly like the explosions and shooting sounds. Nothing over-the-top.
It just takes a while to get used to controlling the tank.
