No Kai Oi is Hawaiian for: This is the best or the greatest. The word Haleakala translates house of the sun.

After seeing the sun rise from below the clouds while standing 10,000 feet in the air on top of the the Haleakala volcano..........I must say....... No Kai Oi.

It was a stunning vision, watching the jet black sky and the vivid stars twinkling over head. Truly amazing as we stood 10k foot high, in the 38' air.

Then the house of the sun welcomed the sunrise just after 6 am. The sun slipped out from beneath the clouds to reveal its magic.

Known around the world as one of the best sunrises you will ever see, I will have to say its something worthy of your life list aka Bucket list. [link]

Photo shot in raw using my Canon 40D & my 1.8 50mm portrait lens. This is not a photo manip including the lens flare &light beams.

Slight RAW edits including: White balance setting/picture style, increased sharpness, added 1+ to color saturation and converted to JPEG. Updated Contrast Brightness then cropped.

The photo was taken of sunrise over Haleakala volcano on the Hawaiian Island of Maui.

PLEASE NOTE that artwork available for sale normally does not have the Watermarks’ or Yin Yang on them. I am able to do limited custom updates on the photos at request.
