It's on like Tiki Tong! (How do ya like that, DK!?)Another Donkey Kong Country Returns fanart, this time featuring the Tikis. I love these little guys; they're cute and they have catchy music that can hypnotize things. Kremlings are classic but these guys deserve respect too. ...ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTIKIS! *raids Donkey Kong's banana hoard*
EDIT [Jul.08.11]: Fixed up the image a bit to fit their designs better (mainly Xylophone and Accordion). I hope this looks better now. I may edit this another time if I see anything else wrong.

I personally find Accordion the best.
he's the nerdy, geeky, intelligent, friendly type. (In my eyes, at least.)
Also, whenever I look at him, I think of CreepsMcPasta's voice. That... Doesn't exactly help.
And the fact that you had drawn with his arms crossed just adds on to it all.

The one in the middle is based off a Kalimba ; an African Thumb Piano. Quite a neat yet obscure instrument.

It doesn't have a very big fanbase, but Donkey Kong Country Returns is well-liked in general (aside from some whiny "fans" who wanted Kremlings in it). More people should appreciate this great game.

Awesome! I loved the design of these guys in the game. When Donkey Kong Country Returns replaced the popular "Kremling" baddies with tiki's I was expecting an uproar about it since that would be like Mario replacing the Koopa's as enemies

I've seen quite a few complaints actually, but the complaints are either by people who are too obsessed with their nostalgia to like anything new to the series, or are just mad in general about the Kremlings' absence and blame the Tikis for it. I actually think the Tikis fit the "musical jungle" theme very well and their unique designs are lovely. I've never seen a game make living instruments look so great, and they still got that nice tribal look to them fitting for the name "Tikis". As for the Kremlings, I like them and it'd be nice to see them in a game again, but if not at least they have a likeable replacement.

Wow, I really like your artstyle. Very solid and selfconfident. It looks like official artwork.
Now it makes me wonder why they're not actually called the "Hypnotikis". Sounds much better than generic "Tikis".
Anyway, I'd love to see more DK baddies and maybe animal buddies in your style

Well, only this bunch can hypnotize; the rest of the Tikis are without hypnotic powers (at least from what we've seen). I called these guys "Hypnotikis" as a reference to Hypnotoad from Futurama. ^^ As for more DK art, I might make some more in this style; it was pretty fun to make and there are some DK characters I still have yet to draw that I want to. Seeing nice feedback like yours makes me more compelled to do so.
