Another illustration for my fanfiction 'Blue, Gold, and Pale'
I'm kind of embarrassed because most of my pictures for my fics are Luffy being in some wretched state, but in my defense this is very common in the actual series as well so don't go judging.

This is a request from HexTheVixen, and if anyone wants an illustration for my fanfictions just go to the story and write a review telling me what you want to see in picture form.

Here's the text that fits with the image here:
Luke covered his mouth in disgust, wanting to turn away but not willing to give up just yet. Slowly he reached out a hand towards the kid's head, struggling to see in the darkness but noting that his face was out of the water. A faint ripple was sporadically emitting from his open mouth, which was an immediate sign to the ape that the soul still held to its vessel.

"Jeez kid" he whispered to himself as he placed a hand on the boy's drenched head, now noting that he was freezing cold. If the human acknowledged his existence he didn't show it. Glancing around to make sure the coast was clear, he reached both hands into the narrow cranny, wondering if there was a part of the human's body that wasn't injured that he could grab hold of to pull him out. Taking a handful of the base of the boy's tattered shorts, he dragged the limp form towards himself, noting the soft whimper that rose from the back of the kid's throat. If he hadn't seen the warrior in action he would never have believed this person to be capable of doing what he did. He seemed so frail up close, and this was only emphasized by the state he was in.

If the boy drew attention to them by making any noise louder than that, Luke decided he would just ditch him. He wasn't going to die for some outsider. He just hoped that his heart would be cold enough to make that decision if the situation turned south.

"Z-Zoro?" he heard the human gasp weakly, his breathing completely uneven and blood seeping from his mouth. The kid was dying. No, the kid had been dying the second he hit the water...
