Nia has an iron will and will remained determined even in the most stressful situations, she never backs down when faced with a challenge. She's also incredibly loyal, if you become close to her she will stick by you through thick and thin. Her ability to remain optimistic in both scenarios, when defending a friend from injustice or standing her ground when challenged, is one of her better traits as any friend or family member would tell you. She always tries to look for the best in any situation!

As tenacious as she is, Nia tends to get a little bit stubborn and lacks the ability to admit defeat to anyone, even her friends. This is both a good and bad trait because sometimes it works out for the best for her, but she forces herself into denial about it because any time she has admitted defeat, she would get emotional. She is also very hardworking, which is generally a good trait because it makes her reliable and responsible, but she sometimes tends to go overboard, working herself to the point of making herself ill. Both her stubbornness and over-working traits can easily be attributed to her confident personality, because as much as her confidence helps her, she sometimes tends to become over-confident rather easily, and her over-confidence usually ends with inevitable failure, or alienating those around her.

This lion tends to be short tempered, unable to keep a level head when faced with accusations or injustices against herself or people she cares about, and sadly also sometimes with more minor things like missing a hit in the batting cages. If she misses even one her temper starts with irritation, and it in turn causes her to miss more hits, which ends up setting off her temper entirely. She is also a perfectionist, which doesn't help her short temper at all, and is one of the main reasons she pushes herself so hard in everything she does. The desire to do the best she absolutely can without a single mistake drives her in her hobbies and her career. The lioness also tends to hold grudges, she has a difficult time letting it go when someone she trusts breaks that trust, depending on how close you are to her she might forgive easier if it were a smaller breech of trust, like a lie, but she isn't likely to give second chances in most cases.

[HISTORY]

Nia grew up in a small town out in the country, in a community where everyone knew everyone else, constantly surrounded by friends and familiar faces that made her feel safe. Her family was one of the more well off ones in the town, only having moved there when she was too young to recall any memory of it because of a business her parents had started up together. As she got older her parents nudged her in the direction they wanted her to go in, not out of a desire for control, but for want to make sure their daughter didn't end up going nowhere in life. She took ballet because she told her mother she wanted to dance, she studied hard in school because her father wanted her to take over their business one day and got good grades...but it wasn't enough for her. She was passionate about dance, but she wasn't allowed to do the kind of dancing she wanted. She loved school, but her only true interest in it was History, and it didn't really appeal to her as an alternate future career. Soon her acceptance with the idea of simply going with the flow and doing as her parents asked of her just to please them became less and less appealing, wanting more and more to do what she loved instead of what they wanted, and when she expressed this to them, they would shoot it down immediately. They feared for their daughter not being able to make it in the entertainment business, it was a tough world to get into and even tougher to stay in, and the subject caused many arguments between the cub and her parents.

Eventually her attitude began to reflect on her schooling, getting into fights and skipping class to watch and learn from the free-style dancers who practiced and performed at the only park in the town. She made friends with a zebstrika in high school as well, a troublemaker, but a good person at heart who always had her back. The two got into trouble together often, getting grounded and sneaking out, and eventually after suffering through the arguments and the attempts to sway her into the lifestyle her parents had carefully crafted for her for years, they would give in. Nia would be stunned when her parents told her in her senior year that if she managed to graduate, they would let her do whatever it was she wanted. They would pay for dance school/classes, they would help her until she could find herself a job so she could find her own place to stay, and she couldn't have been any happier. She was regretful of her behavior after that of course, but her parents had relented because they had known they were in the wrong, and realized that even if they had only done it out of concern and a desire to help her, it still wasn't their choice to make. Nia would work her ass of senior year to graduate, her best friend dropping out to move to the city with what she had managed to save up--she was so proud of her too of course--and after graduation she would spend three years going to school and working her ass off to save for her own place in the city, managing to find some small time gigs, but it was a good start. She's able to live comfortably with her work now, especially with what she makes on the side with street performances.

Nia is a back-up dancer for concerts and dance performances, she grew up with ballet but eventually got into hip-hop and other forms of dance, earning some spare cash by performing on the streets sometimes.

--One of her main hobbies is smacking baseballs with her bat in the batting cages, she doesn't watch or play baseball, but an old friend introduced it to her as a great way to blow off steam.
