Description 1/3 of an assignment for character design. These are only a select few. We had to do 32 total. I'll be posting all of them on my blog eventually....

We had four topics to cover: Army Warrior 2048, Native American 400 AD, Asian Geisha, and Victorian women.

The next step is to add white in there and figure out what the character looks like on the inside. This is way fun.

They're so dynamic! the loose quality really gives them alot of movement and I can see how that's going to help in creating finished characters with strong feels. sigh, I still have so much to learn.

These are truly inspiring

This is such an interesting approach to character design! I've seen it floating around before but these are fanTAStic!

Thanks! It's a great way to loosen up and get great shapes.

My favourite is the one in the bottom right hand corner You can see her personality even through a silhouette!
That reminds me though, I never remember to update my blog ;_; yargh!

That's a great way to go about the whole process. I've had proffs that started with silhouette before, but this is an even better spin

Heh, these are pretty sweet. I think I finally got at least one that's worth looking at, so hurray for that? I can't wait to see how you awesomefy these even more with positive shapes.

I’ve never tried this type of approach obviously I should. you got some really cool ideas floating around with just a few simple strokes.

He told us to keep it loose, and the mistakes turned into the cool stuff . It's been a really sweet project. I'd love to see what kind of kickawesome stuff you could do.

I like this particular style. You're attention to detail is depicted very well here. So good job, poses and everything.

Wonderful style you use in your works. It's ace-ness throughout the process.
