Description A new commish for *Forsaken2544 , of Torea Sterling’s blade, Thryvanstael.

lol, I’m starting to wonder if I should just give up on drawing people and call myself a blacksmith artist by trade. It just feels natural to me; plus I seem to be getting these things done without the hassles I receive elsewhere... with the exception of spatial ships, of course. Those are always fun!

Sadly, it's a commission so you'll have to ask Josh.

Check the description.

Forsaken2544 (aka Josh) is pretty easy going.  If you ask him about it I'm sure you'll get the go ahead.

Forsaken2544 [2010-09-26 16:39:36 +0000 UTC]

Hmm... A Scabbard would look great for this. I can imagine a dyed blue leather with silver edging.

Then the armor that a warrior that wields such a noble blade would wear.

A symbol of the devotion such a warrior would have in their Goddess.

And the warrior herself.

Combine these elements, so we can see this hero, clad in the regalia of her valorous pursuits.

<_<

Aww, I'm sure with enough practice even you could wield something like this effectively? As they say, practice makes perfect.

Aikurisu In reply to iduck [2009-03-04 08:14:37 +0000 UTC]

Hmm... nah. XD Depends on the composition of the blade. If light enough, it won't tone your arms that bad.

When I first saw the thumbnail for this in Ferrilonver's journal I would have sworn it to be a true blade of steel, not the work of a digital artist. Beautiful sword; it looks ready to take in hand and use.

Thanks, Trish! lol, and wish I had at least one sword, let alone a collection. All I have is my trusty wooden shovel handle. Still, it has a good weight to it and sturdy as.

LostSiren In reply to Aikurisu [2008-11-02 00:59:10 +0000 UTC]

LOL...a sword is a sword, no matter what...grins. Sometimes, its a royal pain as I have a 20 ft long wall covered in swords and weapons...lol. Some are quite sharp too...I touched one and it actually sliced my finger....lol. But your swords are awesome...you should learn how to do 3d objects and sell your swords to those that use 3D programs...you'd do very well as I haven't seen any that I can buy as beautiful as yours.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aikurisu In reply to LostSiren [2008-11-04 13:45:22 +0000 UTC]

Thank you. Yet... lol, 3D programs are more than a chore for me to understamd. If only they were as easy as drawing something to canvas. What I do know though is that I hope there are some blade competitions out there. I remember the crew behind Guild Wars had one early this year, which I'm kinda sad about. If I knew of it and had the skill I have now, I could quite possibly have seen one of my works immortalised as a useable weapon in their game. That would have definitely been better than receiving some kind of cash prize. I'm sick of the shadows and money can't really buy me out of it.

So what kind of blades do you collect for your wall?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LostSiren In reply to Aikurisu [2008-11-05 11:08:02 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I can't count the amount of time I've spent pulling my hair out trying to understand why they don't make these programs more user friendly...sigh.

I collect all sorts of blades, have almost all the Lord of the Rings ones, Narnia, Highlander, Robin Hood...and others...I have about 30 blades and weapons on the main wall in the living room...and always looking for more...lol.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aikurisu In reply to LostSiren [2008-11-08 03:21:22 +0000 UTC]

Haha, should take a picture and show.

Thankfully, even though I hardly know the basics of those 3D programs, I manage to learn from them what I want to understand better. lol, same could be said about the modelviewer for WoW, in the sense that it's easy enough to look at any weapon from its stock at any angle wished, to get a general idea for perspectives when required.

Of course, the weapons and items in WoW are mostly pretty basic and nothing to commend about, but ah well. ... Now if only there was a modelviewer for WAR.
