Sometimes his thoughts were expressed in words like:
"No one understands" "You'd be better off without me" "There's no hope… it'll always be this way"

... followed by a laconic and nearly inaudible "good-bye"

But he was never taken seriously by friends… until this very last day
When, reaching for the warmth felt so long ago
He dived into the ocean depths…
and went deeper and deeper
Until the pain of being himself began to pass.

"Peace... at last"
